Fatty dinner or more Protein?

(Ruhaifa Adil) #1

Hi. I’m new to keto and have been reading and experimenting with meal planning.

I understand that breakfast should have some good protein in it. Now, my question is, what should the dinner be like? Shall I keep it higher on fat and use my remaining protein in lunch, or keep my lunch simple and make my dinner with protein. So far, I’ve been taking a bullet proof tea at night, and taking salad and protein at lunch. Should I switch it around? Thanks.

I think the goal is to make it work for you while you enter ketosis and remain in ketosis.

What feels better for you during the day? Stick with the basics. Start with 20 grams of carbs a day, then pick your proteins when it works for you, and fat to satiety.

Keep experimenting!

What she said. The main thing is doing what keeps your tummy happy. After a while, you may end up skipping lunch altogether and having one main meal. It’s your N=1. :+1:t2::muscle:t2:

There is nothing in any meal that is prescriptive. Breakfast doesn’t need any more protein than any other meal, unless you want it that way. Eat protein for the day to your body’s lean-mass requirement. Limit carbs all day. Eat fat until full. That’s all you need to start. You can hack and tweak eating times as you adjust and adapt.

What makes you think that? Not necessary really.

I seldom do breakfast. Just some fatty protein and something green for lunch. Maybe a snack for dinner or not. Just the basics as was stated. Do the basics

too much fat at night tends to mess with my sleep. i bigger meals for breakfast and lunch, and doent go heavy on the fat or protein after about 4pm, that works for me

I make whatever sounds good that day Some meals are higher in protein, some are higher in fat… It all varies. I like variety in my meals.
