Fasting February
Excellent. I started my fast Sunday night and will break it Wednesday night.
I just broke my last fast of the month. I had 5 different fasts for a total of 554 hours or just over 23 days. I lost 20 pounds and I’m confident I have broken through my last plateau. Monday I will be getting a Dexa scan and I will post the results to see how Fasting February affected my body composition.

Ok here is the final update for Fasting February. One thing I noticed between March 1 and March 2 I gained 7 pounds. I was a little bit disappointed, however I’m feeling better after getting my Dexa scan results.
Over “Fasting February” I lost 13 pounds of fat. Given that I fasted for 23 days this is in line with Dr. Fung’s estimate of 1/2 pound of fat lost per day of fasting. 1 pound of that fat was visceral fat, which is the most detrimental to your health.
I also gained 7.4 pounds of lean body mass during the month. So I’m pretty happy with gaining some muscle and losing some fat.

I worked out at home. I did strength training using resistance bands and some cardio (walking and a recumbent stepper). A 3-4 day fast doesn’t impact my ability to workout. I seemed to run out of energy a little quicker after about day 6 or 7.
I’m in day 3 and only bcz of u I’ll try to reach 7 days wish me a luck … but no energy to even do 1000 steps per day … and I’m following wht u did step by step ! The salt thing in scared abt it bcz usually I’m sensitive to sodium so I dnt knw wht to replace the salt thing !
3 days so far: 3 ketones , 65 glucose , 3 pounds (hopefully not all water especially I was zero carb before the fast)
Good luck with your fast. Fasting is like a muscle, the more you exercise it the easier it gets. If you don’t feel well physically, then stop your fast and you can start a new one when you are ready. At this point I’ve done dozens of 3+ day fasts, so it’s getting easier now.
These are great results! I have to say because I think it’s true…this seems to have better results for men in general. The metabolic idiosyncracies of women are extremely annoying and often discouraging. Still, I cling to the hope that I may experience some results similar to yours one day!
I called to facilities within my state today to see if it is possible to have a DEXA scan without a referral from a physician. Hopefully, it IS possible and I will make myself an appointment when I feel it is affordable.
Meanwhile, I am on an extended fast and into day 6. Plan on a full 12 days for this one and will be measuring results with a tape measure and much less reliable scale.
1/2 lb of fat loss a day…Oh, how I hope and pray this can be true for me!!! :smiley
I have been just getting back to some super slow strength training as well, which I just love. It amazes me how “wrecked” like a ball of jelly, my body can feel after only 10-15 minutes of this type of training. It is grueling!

I use DexaFit a commercial facility that offers scans to the public. They have facilities in many states, so that may be an option.
Yes, I was looking. It appears the cost $150 for a DEXA scan and they are not located in my state…or even within 300 miles! I wonder if they are open on weekend…I’ll be in FL for sister’s wedding…
