Keto has been a struggle for me. I seem to have some sort of not as typical carb issues. I have hypoglycemic episode upon waking 2-7 days into eating keto- even when easing into it.
Previously I had ADF or even 72 HR fasted with no issue, while eating either SAD or avoiding processed foods but not keto.
So yesterday I just fasted! BP coffee in the am then water and mint tea the rest of the day. BG stayed around 75 and I felt great! Hands and feet got a little cold but that resolved with salt.
I woke up this morning not hungry, and with no symptoms of hypoglycemia. My BG was 55-57 (3 consistent readings) so I broke my fast with 2 eggs, broccoli and mushrooms in butter and BP coffee.
I’m going to monitor how I feel closely today and eat high fat and try to get 1/4-1/2 cup CCO in for the MTCs and go from there.
Somehow, even when not fat adapted my body does better with fasting than with a straight keto diet.
