Face break out

Hey guys first post and first week of keto done, first the positives- definitely getting some definition around the chest and ab area so that’s great and skin is smoother and softer, but my lower face has completely broken out in spots also a good side has appeared which I tend to get 1-2 a year maybe coincidence? Are these breakouts normal in the beginning of keto?

Your body is changing. Part of that change is the release of stored toxins from fat breaking down which can cause your issue. If it doesn’t clear up in a couple weeks, you might try eliminating items that might be causing the skin irritation.

That happened to me too for the 1st 2 weeks. I think my hormones were balancing. All is back to normal now.

I never noticed this, but too much was going on in my life at the time I went keto, for me to be paying attention. A year and a half later, however, my skin is better than it’s been in my life. I used to get blackheads and whiteheads all the time, and full-blown pimples regularly. Now, if I get a blackhead, it’s an event. I won’t say I never get pimples, but I think I remember having one two weeks ago (and nothing like the ones I used to get), and I can’t remember at all when I had one before that.

Hey thanks for the response paulL luckily I’ve never suffered from blackheads too much but giving a little update on the situation the break out is calming down and no new spots are developing so I think it was lack of patience on my behalf :smiley:

I certainly hope that a solid improvement is on the way. I hope that your long-run experience will be a lot like mine. Of course, I’m still waiting for keto to make me taller and blonder, but perhaps you’ll have better luck with that. :grin: :grin: :grin:
