I have fasted multiple times in the past -longest being 14 days- but any weight I have lost always slowly crept back on. I’d like to complete my longest yet water fast and learn the benefits of Keto and Keto lifestyle maintenance.

I started a 3 day fast 12 hours ago.
I’ve never surpassed 4 days.
Wish me luck!

Just to note that fasting is a totally optional add-on to keto, not keto itself.

By coincidence I started a fast yesterday on 12/18/18, with no plan for how long to continue. How long are you planning to fast?

Are you seeing any benefits? 14 days sounds horrible - and unnatural - to me but I guess people do it.

Fasting is not a one time thing. In order to be effective, it must be a regime that’s repeated on a regular basis: daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly depending on your goal. During a long extended fast, a lot of weight may be lost, but it will eventually return unless a fasting/ eating schedule is implemented to prevent it.

I lost 75 lbs over the course of a year via extensive fasting. I continued to lose on a less aggressive regime for the next 6 months. I don’t want to lose anymore weight, and maintain by fasting at 16-48 hour intervals, depending on what I’ve eaten.

Maintaining weight loss from extended fasting can be distilled down to: fast and lose weight, resume eating, fast again before the weight is regained.
