Experimental fathead pizza

(chris) #1

So I was curious to see if this would work so I altered the fathead pizza recipe
instead of almond flour I crushed some pork rinds and it pretty much works just fine
I didn’t get a picture of it I ate it pretty quickly.

mozzarella, cream cheese, crushed pork rinds, 1 egg.

For those who are allergic to nuts this could be a good thing.

Not to mention an even lower carb count.

Hmmm, may or may not be cheaper too, for that matter. I’ll have to try it sometime. Yet another variation to add to the list of things to try out.

Great idea! Did you use the same amount of crushed pork rinds as almond flour? I was thinking about trying my first fathead pizza pretty soon.

I think I am excited. Can you give us the breakdown I am trying it asap. Just replaced almond flour with the porkrinds?

I do the same thing, works great!

this is the recipe I started with, I had to ad more pork rind dust because it was a little too wet, but it worked out great

This is a great idea. I am allergic to nuts and I often find great recipes that have almond flour. I am open to any other almond substitutions anyone is willing to suggest. Thank you.

P.S. This is my first post.

I also use ground flax seeds. You could probably also combine that with pork rinds to dilute that flavor.
