Does anyone use LEFSE potato bread (5.5g per piece)?

I’m not big on bread, but made me curious

Looks keto freindly from the nutritional breakdown!

Lefse looks like a tortilla…lol

yes. The second video host says that compared to tortillas: it’s more flexible, very thin with a different flavor and a chewy consistency.

That would spark cravings for me. I avoid all the keto bread products. Just meat, veggies, and cheese. Some seeds and nuts.

I am norwegian and I would never consider lefse as ketogenic food. It’s made of mashed potatoes and wheat flour.
I love lefser, but I can promise, one lefse and my cravings for carbs are without control.

I’m new to keto but have grown up making and eating lefse. I can’t imagine how this would be keto friendly. Yes, the butter and HWC would be fine, but you use mashed potatoes and flour. Also, who really eats it plain? LOL We spread butter on it (ok) and jam, or butter and sugar. Definitely would spike the blood sugar there! So good though! I know some people that wrap it around lutefisk but I cannot stand lutefisk.

Living in North Dakota right now, and see it all over at the grocery store. Definitely NOT something I would consider eating. Sugar bomb to the craving control center for me.

So are the claims of 5.5g per slice fake?

The numbers for lefse or lompe made with potato, wheat flour and salt , at the size of a small tortilla(15-16cm diametre) is 10-15 g of net carbs, from starch. In each. Thats for the smallest and thinnest one.

In my head, it is important what kind of carbs you eat, not just the amount. Neither potato or wheat flour is ketogenic, it is just starch.
