Doctor

Had a physical today and doctor very pleased. Always said my numbers were too good for my size. Right now 6ft2 ,52 years old and now 270 was 320 end oh January .

He said everything was very good except low B12, said my blood glucose was 5.3. Test was done at 9am after not eating since 9pm the night before . It’s not just the physical weight loss but the self confidence and feeling good again . Riding the bike outside but loss strength in legs and upper body and a little insomnia. Thanks again this is the best bday gift I could have gotten ( or at least top 5)

Great work Scott!! :bacon::bacon:

If you want to get that B12 up, I’d recommend eating lightly cooked meats, or supplement with methylated (more bioavalable) B12 before the next test.

Thanks he said go buy I multivitamin . It was more about cholesterol and pre diabetes I was worried about

Multivitamins are good in theory but mostly pointless in practice, it seems, due to the low bioavailability of their supposed contents.

Your a1c doesnt seem close to pre disbetes, so you are in good control there. Have you been taking metformin to assist with that? I have heard metformin destroys B12.

I have been supplementing B12 incidentally. My last blood work showed my B12 was on the low side of normal. Makes sense, I do take a lot of metformin to assist with insulin resistance recovery.

Edit: oops I read that 5.3 as HbA1c value instead of BG. My BG spends most of it’s time in the 70’s to 80’s.
