Straight salt is quicker

Are you eating enough? Drinking enough?

From what I’ve read, headaches are from either dehydration, electrolyte imbalance or just plain old withdrawal from carbs. If you are getting around 64 oz of water per day and around 2 teaspoons of salt per day, you should be fine in regards to the first two possible causes. I will add that you should not be consuming all that salt at one time. Spread it out over the course of a day.

If that doesn’t help, then it might just take a few days to before your body gets over the sugar. Take an ibuprofen if it’s really bad.

Hi PlainJaneKeto,

I have been on Keto for almost a week now - Both my wife and I had the headaches!!! I still get them 7 days in but they are MUCH milder. When I first started getting them I noticed they would get better after I ate something, or drank another big glass of water… It would go from feeling like my eyes wanted to pop out my head to just a mild ache. Last 2-3 days I have not been getting the really painful ones, so just stick with it, it will get better!!!

Hi im new to the community but not the lifestyle. You can add electrolyte to your water they come in single packets so you can try out the flavors. They also come unflavored but definitely the cure for the keto flu! I realize this quest is from January but others may ask. You can get then at any health store. I get mine on Amazon.

I like what I call a salt hit. I get the salt grinder and grind some into my palm. I pop it in my mouth. This is how I not only get my salt but it gets me over the snack craving I get mid morning. Day three is the worst and it will quickly get better, stay strong.
