Confused regarding macros

PI have been doing this for three weeks. I am confused about how much to eat. By the time I get to the end of most days I may exceed fat and protein. Also carbs which are ONLY vegetables. That said seldom do my calories reach 1000 and never over 1200. So what the heck should I do?? I read advice to others to eat more but that is impossible without going way over target macros. What the heck am I missing. My carb target is 20 and I do sometimes exceed but with broccoli or cauliflower. My cravings are worse. I drink water period. Appreciate help!!

There is no target macro for fat, you eat that until you’re full. Protein is based on your lean body mass. If getting your protein in plus fat goes over 1200 calories then so be it. Eat until you’re full, just don’t go over 20g net carbs.

Listen to your hunger or lack of it and respond accordingly. I spent a solid month eating around 1200 calories without trying to hit that number, but I felt great, I wasn’t hungry beyond that and I lost weight.

I wouldn’t fret too much if I went over a few carbs because of cruciferous veggies. I think it might be easier to try to figure the source of your cravings if you give us a sample of what you might eat in a typical day, including any artifical sweeteners.

Two eggs in morning. Butter 1 teaspoon 2 cups of coffee couple tbl of heavy cream. Stevia=2.
Late afternoon
Usually broccoli or cauliflower cooked two cups. Butter between 1and two teaspoons. Meat of some sort i.e. Pork chop, steak, chicken thigh. Probably 5 or 6 ounces.
If I have cooked bacon I may grab a piece or two during the day.
Enjoy salad but seldom eat it. Use blue cheese dressing if I do.
Drink water 24 ounces x 3 at least.
Use pink salt. Love garlic but have not used much since starting this. Use Ghee which I make friends m organic butter. Use olive oil.
Not crazy about cooking so pretty much stick with veg and meat or couple eggs.
Don’t usually snack. Have never been very hungry and could easily not eat. My friends say they don’t know how I can eat so little.
Don’t go out to eat. Craving lately have been for sugar which I have never craved. Much prefer artichokes olives asparagus etc.

Oh also will put cheese on veg.

What you are doing sounds fine. I would just keep doing what you are doing and try some coffee, tea and or a little salt if the craving is really bad. It seems in most people the cravings vanish in a week or two but yours are still haunting you a little. Hopefully that changes soon. :slight_smile:
