It’s an acquired taste, but it can be acquired. It’s best if you use good quality coffee and brewing methods. If you have a gourmet coffee place you like, maybe mention that you are trying learn to like it black and maybe they will have some suggestions and maybe even make something special for you.

One question we must ask about autophagy is how much should we strive for… We don’t really know if we’re even getting into an autophagy state… These are all things I hope to know!

Definitely. The fasting/autophagy link seems solid, but as far as I know there is not any commonly available test that let’s us know that we’re actually activating autophagy. It seems like there would be some sort of metabolites from autophagy or perhaps an elevated enzyme level that they could test for. But probably nobody will do the research and make that test unless there is demand for it.
