Ended up with 3 scrambly eggs instead of the meat. It hadn’t fully defrosted so it is back in fridge for tomorrows brunch.
I have to attend the regional Pooty awards (prison officer of the year) which is being held west of where i live roughly 34 mins drive. Been given day off to attend and they are doing a 3 course meal first which some very well meaning lass has ordered for me hmmmmm well I am sure you can guess there is nothing I can eat off that menu! She was a tad bit embarrassed and was sure she had asked me before ordering, when I said I am carnivore and wouldn’t have ordered anything off the menu she was very apologetic. I could have given them my dietary requirements if I had known there was a meal involved but too late for that. So I am going to have to make do with some more scrambly eggs before going and sit and watch everyone eat when I get there then eat the meat when I get home around 3pm hahaha hey ho it is what it is. You never know I may be able to scrape off any gunk if there a bit of meat but everything was in some sauce or other on the menu. not going to grumble cos it means I don’t have to get up at silly o’clock again till Friday.
As a follow up to the discussion on heart and pairing with fat. Heart is exceptionally tender if not cooked, and as such tastes better uncooked. I still like to get the outer surface. This heart was cooked for about 6 minutes on one side and then 3 minutes on the other side. It was very tender inside and not so tender where cooked in the outside. I paired with a bit of Buffalo bone marrow, beef thymus and some chicken livers.
@Karen18 Pooty Awards! Haha great name. Yes you can be happy there’s nothing you can eat there because what if they did cook you something special and it sucked? It’s never going to be as good as what you make yourself so cozy up to a cup of coffee and enjoy the show, then enjoy the rest of your day off
@Naghite oh well now I really feel like a wuss, sous viding heart for 24 long hours when all it needed was a quick flip in a pan to warm it lol! Yours looks very good.
… So for lunch we had the rest of yesterday’s steak and it was just too tough for my teeth so I threw it out and snacked on mozzarella cheese sticks between violin lessons. I looked it up and I can sous vide for just 1 hour, then grill, and it will be more tender. This was cheap so probably a round steak.
Has anybody ever made Carni ice cream? It would be completely non sweet but on keto I made ice cream with 8 yolks and a quart of hwc. There was also sweetener and vanilla but leaving those out, you might get an interesting frozen dish for summer. I used to search for savory ice cream, just was curious if such a thing existed. Didn’t find it but maybe I can figure something out!
First meal today was half a ribeye shared with hubby added hollindaise sauce on the side later i made more butter mayo, cooked some lamb shanks and threw a trout in the smoker …

that Keto supp says relief from constipation…not what you need I would dump that now.
I would dump the probiotics also. Your gut is trying so hard to kill old bacteria and stuff in the guts and ‘balance you out’ to what a carnivore natural gut should be…in truth, those probiotics could easily be delaying and screwing you up. Dump that now.
Keep the ox bile and Immodium and let a more natural progression take place.

bestie and I are hitting the road to ‘get the hell out of dodge’
between my mom passing and her 98 yr old MIL is having issues now and being a strain on her hubby (with her calling from the retirement home blaming him to dumping her there and he is a bad son and all that stuff—driving him nuts) plus her MIL is having hospital visits alot now with med issues and getting very confused and very disoriented so…she is over it all too at this point so me and her are going out and having fun. Who knows what trouble we shall find HA

so getting ready to hit the road and just chill thru the day and forget so much stuff. Today is my mom’s 94th birthday…I will celebrate it for her LOL
I am convinced this is the problem I am experiencing.
I had a steak the other day with a large amount of fat on it, and I couldn’t finish it. Now I’m on the steak with less fat on them, and I can’t get satiated.
Annoying.

Just took them all before my midmorning breakfast but now the keto and probiotics go to the back of the cabinet! I’m taking 1 Immodium before bed and it’s getting me nicely through the night. Only a high fat meal disturbs me now.
@Fangs Have a wonderful trip! This may be exactly what the Dr ordered, just forget about things for awhile. Happy birthday to your mom! And all that mil stuff your friend is going through sounds so familiar. I was the “daughter who dumped me here.” It was all much harder on hubby than me - he wanted to get away, which we did, ALOT, bilocating as we do.
I finished the heart just now, with an egg, ahh so satisfying. The heart is good cold too. I’ll get some more this week.

@JJFiddle I nearly took a photo of everyone’s plates. They all ate 3 courses, nothing that wasn’t either smothered in rich sauce or stodgy and carby. Didnt take the pic in the end cos I thought it wouldn’t be appropriate for on this thread to the waiters/waitress were so concerned I didn’t want anything to eat … they were more stressed about it than i was lol in fact I wasn’t at all stressed sitting watching them all stuff themselves, going for more bread rolls and finishing off food for others who couldn’t finish their own ! I felt totally in control and if anything, looking and smelling their food made me feel icky.
The awards went over time by an hour and so I was very ready for some food by 4pm when I got home. No rest of the day off to enjoy lol but I thoroughly enjoyed my late lunch. There were 3 pork medallions and a ribeye and heavens to mergatroyd they tasted good! I have just had a side plate full of bacon and may make some scrambly eggs later as i didn’t have time to eat anything this morning before leaving to drive over to Sudbury.
I was so tired last yesterday after work and nearly dropped off to sleep in my chair so I went to bed quite early… I really felt tired and was expecting to drop off nicely. Then I got notification that I had finished top of the UK leaderboard for the CrossFit Open 2022! I knew if I had done well someone would let me know as i can’t get around the website cos I am such a dinosaur hahaha. Well after that i just couldn’t get to sleep! I’ve been informed i will be invited to the next level … no pressure this is what my daughter wrote on FB … I shed a tear or two…

---------------thanks everyone. Day went fine with heading out and about…in the darn big rain LOL Ate 1/2 rack ribs at steakhouse, they were good. I just could not ‘buy a normal drink’…my friend got a strawberry daquiri and I wanted one, but I just could not bring myself to ever order that again in my life again…what I got…a shot of darn rum we toasted mom and for me the day was ok! Pushing thru it all better now. Even in the moment of wanting to toast mom I just could not drink that sugar swill. But my friend said it was wonderful LOL

got bacon, 1 last piece of chicken I need to cook and a ribeye steak in my day. easy peasy for sure.

So glad you had a great day out. The ribs sound awesome but not so the rum lol i would have by-passed that too. I really don’t mind not having what everyone else is having these days, I just think No you don’t have to follow, just be you! I am sure everyone felt sorry for me yesterday that I didn’t eat all those carbs but I had absolutely zero FOMO aswell as the zero carbs hahaha. And I can bet there were a few peeps there who wished they could have abstained too or thought what a weirdo… most likely the latter … haha … and then went home and ate more carbs lol
Thanks @JJFiddle I’m really not that amazing lol just an old biddy who doesn’t want to be unfit. A friend at CrossFit this morning said her mum can’t even climb a flight of stairs without being out of puff and I can’t see anything good in that for me. If I am not fit I can’t do all the long walks spending quality time with my daughter and son, I wouldn’t be able to dance as I like to, and do so many other things … I would absolutely hate to be out of puff doing the simplest of things. My Mum used to always say to me one day you will be just like me and I always said that I wouldn’t lol. I am like her in a lot of other ways though … I think I have her good points haha and she had many
So not such a bad night last night I think I eventually got my quota of sleep! Next doors dog made sure I was awake well before my alarm which I forgot to set lol and then I was up doing my stair runs before going to CrossFit for a very gassy puffy cv class. All erg machines and burpees but it was good and I enjoyed it.
Came home and have put together a planter trolley that was delivered yesterday afternoon. I think it is going to be a godsend for when I need to move the larger planters about. It seems very strong and will move 75kg. Then had a small packet of cooked chicken slices heated in the leftover fat from the pan-fried meats so was very tasty. I was quite peckish and ate it before thinking photos lol. You will just have to imagine that snacky brunch. I have a ribeye and some more pork medalions out and already defrosted in the fridge for later. Later may end up sooner knowing how chicken doesn’t cut it for me. Haha
@Karen18 I love that phrase “out of puff.” with 100 stair runs a day I bet you never are! And now with some weight gone (scale still not talkin to me) I at least climb stairs more easily. Stair runs have to be good for your knees. Sometime I’ll try them

Yup Mom was anything but grateful for the trip to the “joint” but I felt compassionate and like I’ve mentioned I was always so grateful to be the one nearby, through some freak of nature that brought me back from VA and then kept me here for the whole pandemic.
Lastnight we got back from our country bar gig and I felt a little hungry, had a little piece of leftover ribeye from a week and a half ago. Heated in the electric nonstick and it was delicious, still!
This morning about 9:30, 2 eggs fried in water in the nonstick pan with 3 little slices of that nonfat deli ham,and a bile pill. (still a little shy of fat when I might be going out)
