Carnivore ZC SurfTurf-tember! 30-day September Challenge. 2022

#142

yes I sure know your Mum takes care of her little boy  her beef ribs I bet are just wonderful, made my Mum for you, can’t get any better than that truly :fist: I loved reading about your mom doing this for you!!

OK…you have the means. You made your food at your city home so why are you not ‘controlling your needs’ now? Is it more you are tired and got sick and said screw this kinda in a way and then the politics of work are wearing you down? IF YOU got the means, you need your egg rollup cigars again in your life  I remember you doing so well making those and enjoying it too!

Sometimes we get somewhat buried ‘under it all’ thru whatever comes our way. Time maybe? for you to look UP UP to what you used to do to handle your work city teaching job time and come to the surface again and ‘take back control’ as you need to do for you??

this is JUST chat my friend. If it seems to suit you in any way cool, if I am off track, hey sorry :smirk:

love this! More we feel we are deserving even tho we might feel less than, if we put the work into ourselves we can change and give more to others thru our success! So yea, words to kinda live by!!

and I am jealous on this one. omg such yum!

but ya know, those who love raw got it even more simple.
raw meat, eat.

It’s cool. No worries. On ZC carnivore my mental state at home is calm and steady. I think it’s a benefit of this low carb WOE. If I was a carboholic, I probably would have flipped the table at work. I know it is a good way to try to be.

@Karen18 Long live the King?

:flushed::flushed: good thing ya off carbs now
those co-workers don’t know how much you have done ‘for them’ and don’t even know it :100:

You brought up the Queen.
Gosh that is sad the Queen has passed. I always loved her reign and her as a woman in a tough role in this current environment! Very very sad. I was this Queen’s fan in a way.

(Linda ) #145

Yes it was very sad to hear the queen had passed…so many things will change all the current money will have to be changed in the common wealth country’s to have king Charles lll on instead, the national anthom will change …

Will also be interesting to see how well he is recieved as king…because the queen was so loved world wide…

Funny thing I’ve noticed is since bringing my food eating forward in the day my sleeping has improved so much…since starting carnivore I’ve had insomnia and often haven’t been able to fall asleep until 3 or 4 in the morning…
But in the last week or so I’ve been in bed about 10 and sleeping til 7 or 8 with maybe one time waking up due the dogs.
@FrankoBear well you def sound like you already have the perfect set up with a house and wonderful family meals

Will update this with food and blood sugar readings.
blood glucose reading this morning was 85
Breakfast one flanken rib two fried eggs and coffee

(Megan) #146

I soooo feel for you with this Fangs, I hope it doesn’t last long. I had a period of about 6 months of intense sciatic a few years ago. It was awful!!

(Vic) #147

Hi all,

Just hopping in to say hello to all you wonderfull virtual friends.
I’m in Gibraltar for the moment. Food you say? Oh dear this place is junkfood paradise.

So I go to the supermarket every once in a while and buy a bunch of raw fresh meat and just eat it raw.

I don’t really care anymore if its cooked or raw anyway. Its all habbit in the end.

Its so librerating to eat simple and be free from the social pressure that surrounds the “food as entertainment” business.

Xxx
Vic

(Vic) #148

The evening meal

(Karen) #149

Because it has always gone without feeling the need to actually say it.

(Karen) #150

Wow @carnivoor2 Vic I was just thinking about you thi morning and wondering how you were and where you might be on your travels :grinning: it’s great to hear from you. I have been eating half seared steaks recently and really enjoying them. Just like to eat meat hot otherwise I would eat them completely raw and it was all your posts of raw meat that inspired me even if it took me a while to get there lol. I don’t eat it raw all the time but when I do the difference in taste and texture is amazing. I tend to sear both sides if the steak has been sitting in fridge for a couple of days after I have opened a pack of 2 and already eaten one. I think to eat raw it has to be as fresh as. Anyway good to see you popping in :slightly_smiling_face:

@Fangs sciatica is awful, my stepdad was diagnosed with it many years ago (when I was a teenager) and back then the doctor ordered him to lie on the floor for 6 weeks! :astonished: of course now the order is to keep moving.
Hope you’re right again very soon.
Yes I must admit I cried when I heard the news of the Queen passing but she had become very frail very quickly recently. I always thought she would live forever she was such a strong woman but I guess when Prince Phillip passed she lost her will to carry on.

@FrankoBear yes long live the King. I have no doubt he will be a good king, he has wanted that crown for many years! He is very much an environmentalist so will be popular with a diverse age range of people. Times a changing eh?

Food over past day or so …

And this is a lucky wood pigeon cos if he had continued to give me that look he would have been on a plate too!

Just reheated cooked turkey and butter for early brunch and I was so hungry after the tea dance this afternoon I had to pop in the the co-op and buy packets of 4 slices of ham, 4 slices of silverside beef and 4 slices of corned beef all of which went down very well. Didn’t need anything else when I got home… just lots of water cos they were fairly salty.

(Judy Thompson) #151

Running into the restaurant gig in a minute - at least I’ve read and kept up. Yesterday I read 50 posts!
Have enjoyed reading your research @Azi. Keep up the great work! I woke up hungry @4 this morning but steeled myself against the eggs and bacon racing through my brain. Then by 7 when I got up again I was no longer hungry!
@Fangs I’m a sciatica freedom fighter too! It has actually improved with carnivore but with physical stress I get really sore. Let me know if you find a way to make it go away.

Here are some of the meals from the past couple days:

Brisket

@restaurant- deer sausage and German sausage and cheese yesterday

Today, sous vide chicken and jumbo Argentine shrimp

#152

I’m going to need a bigger plate.

@Karen18
yes I found that true kinda with the Queen. After Philip passed it did she became frail faster. I can’t even imagine the pressure in her world. But her reign was so long and she did well.

Yes that pigeon IS giving you the stink eye LOL watch your back K

@JJFiddle
yes the darn sciatic nerve stuff is tough ain’t it? ugh…I feel for anyone who has it too! Glad you are improving but like always, we gotta take care of ourselves at all turns!

that deer sausage looks good! not something on the menu around me usually.

@FrankoBear, holy moly. pure jealousy on this pic , nah, no bigger plate, you will have that thing cut down to small in no time! Attack! Was that on your woodstove grill setup? just wondering, I can’t stop thinking about it…too darn great!

@carnivoor2
Super happy ya dropped in to say HI to your pals.
I figured you are off traveling and working hard as usual.
That pack of lamb looks very fresh, very tasty! Be safe traveling Vic and check in again

--------------------todays food is in the oven now. Just got it in. first meal. country style pork ribs. found a pack on marked down price, grabbed it. Might eat when done but I might just fridge it til I want them…we shall see. Next meal got chick or burger.

image000000%20(21)

See all that yummy fat I am going to have, you know I can’t wait, lol. That is the reason I may eat them earlier than normal meal time, when they come out of the oven with drippy crispy fat on them, I don’t think I will be able to fridge them…dundun da…

The pain nerve is tad better. can walk without feeling like I am gonna go down off that leg right out from under me. still icky but improving…thank goodness…this bit of PIA irks me but so far so good.

we got beauty carni pics on the board ya’ll…ZC food porn! :sunny:

Nature will drop your blood pressure and stabilise blood glucose. Another part of the ZC lifestyle is getting outside in the fresh air when we can. Wildflowers on the way home from town. It’s the season.

#155

THIS IS NOT FOR NEW PEOPLE COMING INTO THIS PLAN!!!

THIS IS INFO based on 10-15 yrs between people and others and OUR HEALTH coming into THIS matter a ton.

but just a fab who are you ‘in longer carnivore’? and we find issues with us as individuals!!!

longer but well worth the time for those 1 yr plus on this plan or might suit some around 4-6 mos committed to this lifestyle and what it gives us!

(Robin) #156

Not for long….

(Megan) #157

I would like to apologize to Shinita and the people on this thread for my posting. I realize now I should have taken my struggles to and admin privately.

(Linda ) #158

I dont think you need to apologize for stressing that posts about non carnivore food are affecting you how else are we to know?.
As you mentioned its been done before on different pics posted…

If this isn’t the place to speak up maybe we need a new place to call home…

(Robin) #159

No worries. :vulcan_salute:t2:

(Karen) #160

Some fab pics @FrankoBear @JJFiddle and @Fangs
Just your brisket just looks so yummy do you put a rub on the top? Loving the T bone Mr Bear

I bought some fresh pork ribs today . I am thinking I might slow cook them and put the in fridge over night before reheating them in the oven. When I get the packaged pork ribs they say they are slow cooked and then instructions are to reheat in oven for 35 to 40 minutes. I may put a spicy rub on them too. Hmmm

Still warm enough to sit outside with my brew in the morning. Finsihed one of my books yesterday afternoon so I have started another today. I just have a little more to read on one of the other books but over half way through. So I have started reading Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo. I think I will enjoy it.

Went for a walk down through Nottingham University with Sian, the grounds are lovely. It was freshman day so it was very busy with families scurry about holding plans of the uni, cars being ushered into spaces on every available green space and stalls scattered around to assist the newbies. Brought back memories for Sian and me as I took her down for her first day and helped her move in. We had a few giggles about it because I went down to her uni in Plymouth to see her and we shared her small room and shared the showers too. She stood on the bench to make room for me to change and her towel moved and revealed a tattoo she’d had done and was desperately trying to hide from me … :astonished::astonished::astonished: shock horror! Naughty girl!. Lol
We walked about 5 miles and talked the whole way round as per.

Got home and was so ready to eat. Steak and bacon

Popped to the supermarket to buy fresh mussels and more rollmops and forgot the rollmops!
Before setting off I had put 3 belly pork slices in slow cooker. They were the ones i bought in the farm shop. Had them for dinner but had to cut off the rinds and fry them before being able to eat them. Followed them with a packet of shrimp and had them with mayo… first time for ages since eating mayo… it wasn’t nice :money_mouth_face:

(Linda ) #161

Thanks @Fangs for posting this yeah makes sense to me… Because there are alot of ppl on the forums that carnivore doesn’t help with weight loss so it makes sense to me to be able to adjust it to your personal needs and I think by measuring blood sugar and ketones gives some of us just that… because it’s based on what your own body numbers are sayin
It’s prob not for everyone alot could not be bothered with all the testing which is perfectly fine… the basic just eat fatty meat til your full. Will work for most but not all.

My blood sugar this morning was 85 then just before 2 I started cooking my 2nd meal hubby made him self a chai tea coffee and insisted I have a taste because according to him it wasn’t sweet…
Well it was super super sweet and I just took a tiny sip. So I turned off my food took a blood sugar reading 106 …so I waited a few minutes took again ,113…
An hour later 86 so then I continued cooking my food…(which was 2 eggs 1/2 brat sausage and 2 ounces of steak)

But it was only a taste and sent my blood sugar sky high it was sugar free syrup…
But that is a def see I can’t do that moment
So im learning alot from eat to your meter…
