Carnivore ZC SurfTurf-tember! 30-day September Challenge. 2022

(Robin) #101

I think people get confused because you are not a carnivore but post so frequently in the carnivore topic.

Still not a good reason for everything but no problem. If it’s just imagining very untrue things about me, I gladly write about me many times. I never even THOUGHT that fruits are healthy in the last many years, I usually consider them very unhealthy due to the sugar content. They are basically candy. Well a worse candy, some normal candy has lots of fat, after all though there are cons too, I prefer natural things and the lack of weird ingredients… Oh Alvaro sends his opinion about fruits being highly healthy for him  It’s individual and the amounts matter super much, after all  They worked very well for him this far, probably will continue to do so. He is the healthiest person I know but of course, it’s no big deal in this world, with my almost zero acquaintances and with his young age. We just follow our bodies and don’t do obviously bad things if we can. A FEW things are pretty clear and not what we should experiment with and extrapolation isn’t good. Much sugar is obviously very bad. How much is too much, that’s tricky and individual.

I am probably easy to chase off, at least temporarily, I am a sensitive one. Not too much but somewhat. It wouldn’t be bad to me considering my food addiction but I can’t go away all by myself, unfortunately.

Of course I post here as it helps me, I wrote that many times already. I write almost everywhere and when it’s about carnivore, I think I always mention I am NOT a carnivore just flirt with it. It’s actually a long term relationship at this point but not an exclusive one. But close enough.
I have carni times quite often, well, carnivore-ish at least but the difference is really minimal and I often use other restrictions. Still, I hate mislabel myself, I had problems due to people using bad labels all the time.
This week is (maybe not the weekend, we will see) no dairy carnivore with processed meat only in the very beginning. Pulling it off with mild pork aversion, I am impressed.

Today was… Special. I may eat in the next few hours if I get hungry but I feel it’s unlikely now. Hopefully I won’t get hungry, I am an afternoon eater and my protein is already up.
My calories are around 1200 kcal, it was a surprisingly lean day and I even added pretty much butter (13g, it’s normally enough for me for weeks). I ate beef with butter  I thought you folks do that sometimes and my beef is too lean… It went well.
About a pound of meat, a few eggs and I don’t care about the rest now. Carb intake is completely irrelevant considering I do no-dairy carni now but I tracked 5g.

It was an okay day, low level enjoyment, little but serious hunger, no appetite. It was easy enough to eat but I had to stop due to boredom without satiation at lunch. But I can handle a super tiny hunger for an hour.
No complaints.
4.5 hour eating window, 2 meals. Good. OMAD is completely irrealistic now that I get satiated quite easily but I like not too high-cal TMAD, I just rarely can pull it off, sadly.

I stop with those purple pickled eggs already but it was fun visually while lasted.

And the beef that is way better with butter as it turned out. But I will experiment with other things with it…

Wakeful night but as I had gone to bed fairly early I slept all in all about 7 and a bit hours.

BP a little high this morning before work, 1st of 2 readings was I think 147/84 2nd reading about 123/76. Work, no pressure, a wellbeing day today for staff training day. I went to the gym and did a yoga session which was relaxing and then had my BP taken at the health stall. It was spiked at 184/84! Perhaps I shouldn’t do yoga!

Piri piri chicken reheated with butter for brunch at midday.

Home just before 3pm and sat and chilled in the garden while it was still pleasantly warm and sunny and read my books. Then the forecasted thunder and rain started so back in doors. Thiught I would do my BP again and it was 112/ 62 or something like that. Strange but I don’t need much more of an excuse to sit and chill outside with a book lol.

Dinner was a mixed bag … buffalo chick wings followed by salt and chilli pork ribs and some cockles.

In bed writing this, ready for work again tomorrow.

(Linda ) #104

Yeah when you look how everything is connected you can see why not counting calories is promoted by all carnivore Drs because there so much more to it.

#105

I like the way you see the benefits of pickled cockles and mussels!

2 or 3 times a week I chin a jar down the hatch, usually in front of my workmate colleagues.
They are disgusted with me lol!
I drink the vinegar.

Probably not great for tooth enamel, now I come to think about it
Never mind!

(Megan) #106

Then why do talk on this thread so much?

No, it isn’t.

Unless someone is doing vegetarian/vegan keto, the vast majority of this entire board has a diet that is based on eggs and meat. It’s called low carb eating.

I come here to get away from all the food type talk Shinita. The weighing, the tracking, the calorie counting. The tiny bit of this, the morsel of that, couched in rationalizing, justifications and excuses. And you contradict yourself so often, usually within the same paragraph. I can’t keep up.

Coop got his ear bitten off for posting a pic of some food he cooked here which had some onions in it. Yet your posts are 10 times harder for me to handle, in THIS place where those of us committed to living this woe hang to chat.

(Megan) #107

The pork ribs look amazing @Karen18 !

#108

Holy sheeit!

Megan, you are defending me, and I love that!
No need!

But don’t worry, I’m an adult with my head screwed on.
But I love the jesture nonetheless.

Shinita is a good person, and so are others here too, they mainly all mean well.
In fact they all do, but we just differ in opinions some times.
No biggy. I’m here to chew the fat, discuss, debate…hopefully resolve.

It’s a dynamic WOE, keto in all its forms.

TBH, I’m more worried about the price of kerosene and electricity where I live, right now. xo

#109

No chips on shoulders…especially spud or potato chips.
Eat more mackerel too.

Keep 'er lit and carry on.

(Megan) #110

LOL. Just remember if you ever unscrew your head, you only have one ear now (assuming you hold onto your ears when you’re turning your head?)

Nothing to do with being good or not good. I needed to say something b/c my enjoyment from hanging out in the one active thread for weirdos like me is being really affected.

#111

OK friend :slightly_smiling_face:

Can I call you Megz?

I’m R. Ronz.

Accept I’m just like you, and we all get pissed off at times.
I go out the back garden, play with Carly Dog…what stress?
Worry about what?
Occasionally maybe tempted to piss off my agitator…but I prefer the gentler diplomatic touch.

I love this place, but really…you are correct in what you have implied.

Perhaps, this needs to be looked at in a broader perspective as Paul L has already asked the community to consider.

(Megan) #112

Megz and Ronz, we sound like old fart gangsters.

What do you mean?

#113

LOL.

This is what I mean my friend, and i apologise if it’s not easy to understand.

The way we talk and respond to each other, all be it written. Sometimes, is open to context.

I’ve tried to explain too; when you can’t see context by looking at somebody’s facial expressions, whatever they have written in text is widely prone to misinterpretation,

Even in my 1st aid course recently (this week), they claimed that 70% of human communication is by body labguage and expressions… so you feckin look directly at them, (bystanders, non breathing unconcious casualty) address them by name and tell them to get the FA kit, defibrillater or phone quiksmart.

Or they’ll just stand around being useless.

Sort of went off on tangent there.

But. What I think, for what it’s worth, we mainly just have different views and we like bashing them around. Almost evolutionary in away…

Then occasionally something lines up and consensus/reason/proof is agreed/consented.

Now, in a world that makes no sense any more, Sunflowers.

(Megan) #114

Ah ok, I wasn’t around when PaulL said that so thanks for providing the context.

#115

I can’t remember full name, but Paul quite rightly so said we need to look at how forum members respond to people.

I remember now.

In this thread.

Very uncomfortable tbh.

(Megan) #118

Yup, very familiar with that thread and I stand by my contributions to it. I also think that blanketing everyone’s responses to what Sophie was posting as “leading to a conclusion of hostility when often the proponent’s goal was actually to help and advise the OP” is absolute BS.

Now, back to this situation. What are you trying to say Coop? I was too harsh? I was wrong to say what I did? I was out of line? Immediately jumping in to placate, smooth the waters, emphasizing the absence of all the non verbals when communicating in a medium like this etc etc etc reminds me of a scared kid in their bed at night listening to their parents screaming at each other, throwing things etc. Not needed. If you think I was out of line just say so.

#119

No!

Quite the opposite my friend. Can’t you see that?

#120

Just context. That’s all.
