Is there such a thing as to much egg on the keto. I just started 4 days ago and love me some eggs. I keep my carbs below 20g a day.
But sometimes my fats are super high. Is it such a thing having to much fat on the keto as long as your carbs are low?
Can you eat too much fat?
Im not even sure. I guess when I get close to 90g of fat? I’m just now starting and really unsure about whats high. I focus a lot on my carbs and do really well at keeping it low. How much fat do you usually have ?
I don’t count anything, but I’ve been on this since April of last year. But 90g of fat is only 810 calories, that’s not too much imo. If you’re eating nutrient-dense food, like eggs, it’s pretty difficult to eat too much fat for any sustainable period of time. You’ll probably get sick if you tried. I wouldn’t worry about it.
Not really initially, but it varies by individual. Fat intake should be self limiting due to the leptin response. It’s best to keep fat high, protein moderate, and carbs very low until adapted.
This is what I tracked for today. Does it look too crazy ?
Or am I just being crazy about this whole tracking thing? Lol!
No I’m not counting my calories at all. Just the fat, protein and carbs. I’m sick today so did not eat very much.
When you hit reply. You will see an arrow pointing up on the bottom right corner
If you’re enjoying the eggs, eat them. If your seeing progress toward your goals (whether that’s weight loss, or a health issue, etc), then eat the eggs. If you’re NOT seeing progress, then try reducing the eggs, give that some time, re-evaluate.
IMO, a high amounts of fat when you are just starting keto is not a terrible thing. On the contrary, switching from being a carb burner to a fat burner requires there to be a stready presence of fat and a very limited amount of carbs. But after your body starts using fat for fuel and becomes better at it, then eating excessive fat means your body will burn the fat in your belly and not the fat on your bones. That’s not the worse thing in the world but it’s self-defeating if your intention is to lose weight.
The thing that best determines when fat becomes too much is your satiety. The whole process is fairly self-regulating so if you let that be your guide as for how much to eat, you might notice you are eating a lot of fat now but you might gradually notice you are eating less and less as your hunger hormones are becoming less feral.
I’m confused by your title and your post: the title asks about fat but the post is about eggs?
anyways, in answer to your title, for me, yes. too much fat starts to stack up in me and I feel heavy. I know this because I recently got an ice cream maker and started making delicious ice creams, and yes, quite fatty. I naturally made some adjustments and felt less hungry the days after I ate some, but I could see how having so much fat everyday would throw me off.
Mind you, I’ve been doing the WOE for a year now. In the beginning, I ate as much fat as I needed to not feel hungry, but kept carbs at 15-20 a day.
as for eggs in your post: I find eggs are my super food. If i’m hungry and don’t know what to have, eggs are my go to food. I eat at least 2/3 a day, sometimes more.
