Can you be in Ketosis but still not eating enough fat?

I understand that this is a made up example only. It still makes me wonder every time I see it. The calorie deficit is huge for a 180 lbs person, isn´t it? - I could eat that little easily if I followed my hunger but I would starve right away. I need twice that fat for some 2000 kcal to begin with. 1400 can not feel good for long. How does it lose fat even?

I can not “listen” to my non-existing hunger, especially at induction. I always had to eat more than I “wanted” to get enough food. If I only “listen” , I will drop to 1400 kcal or even less -and stop losing weight and feel weak.

I may have done this all wrong since 2004 but everything always went great when I adjusted my fat intake the opposite way. I ate the most fat at induction, then lowered.

Of course this is only my past experience and now I´m probably different.

But it´s dinner time,I´m not hungry and I´ll go eat some delicious fatty stew to avoid undereating.

Depends on the person but in the example it’s 1000 kcal in the very beginning. I consider it quite big for someone needing only 2400 kcal but some people can pull it off, it’s short term in the example, that definitely helps… It’s very much impossible for me (I would feel starving and just would eat more at midnight) and causes problems for you, both makes sense to me. But it may work, it’s not extreme/unbelievable…

I do something similar when it’s dinnertime, I am not hungry but had no food all day and I don’t feel extended fast is a good idea at the moment… It’s good if we use our experiences and act accordingly when our usual signs happen to be off (it it is normally okay in the first place). I follow my hunger as long as it works well and use my knowledge about myself when I don’t have it (or some other signs hinting at the need of food even if it’s not hunger).

I enjoy very low carbs so much, can´t follow hunger because it rarely comes. I´m hoping my fat storage is being used! That´s something a scale only can tell so I will weigh once a week or so. Weight loss is not very important to me at this point, I´m enjoying my well being a lot now! The Keto-Honeymoon!

Blood Pressure drop is a remarkable thing to me, I have cut my meds to 1/4 in one month and my BP is better than two months ago. Go figure?

I can feel metabolism getting better already, I can actually sweat now without sauna! A short crosstrainer run just proved it the other day and again today. Those BP meds may have made me gain all this extra weigh by slowing everything down. My bad heart does not allow for much exercise so it´s great to be able to sweat even a little. With normal BP and pulse! I have read Metoprolol is famous for weight gain.

My doc is not going to like this.

I know the extra weight will go one day. Chillies help with metabolism too!
