Has anyone been making BPC with nespresso? If so, what pods do you use and what fat/how much do you use?
Bulletproof coffee with Nespresso?
I use my Thermomix to heat the butter and BO to 70°C while the pods are brewing then whizz.
I have one shot of lungo (the brown one) then put an espresso shot through the same pod… then 2 espresso shots one arpeggio one vanillo then add in a couple of teaspoons of coconut oil and 3 teaspoons of cream - top up with just boiled water to make an Americano with oil and cream. fills my 400 ml mug nicely.
Brew coffee as normal add 1 tbsp of butter, 1 tbsp of MCT oil, love it great way to start the day
I put a tbs of butter and coconut oil into the cup before I pull. 1 shot espresso (usually caramelito… so good), 1 shot lungo. A couple splashes of of heavy cream and whizz it all up in a nutribullet sometimes I add hot water, sometimes I don’t. Depends on the day.
It is hard to put into words how jealous I am of anyone who owns a Thermomix.
I was completely skeptical whether we’d use it for the money it costs but to be completely honest we use this thing at least twice a day.
Both my wife and I and now even the kids use it for the simplest of things from BP coffee to making bread / pizza dough. Even last night the kids wanted custard with their apple pie (yeah they aren’t keto - yet) - raw ingredients and 7 mins later perfectly smooth hot vanilla custard produced by my 10 yr old.
I don’t buy almond meal. I buy raw almonds, 7 seconds later I can make meal either as course or fine as i want. Same with caster sugar or icing sugar.
Making a roux or ragout used to be labour intensive and challenging - now i can drink a coffee while I watch it do its thing.
And the SkinnyMixers recipes are to die for!
yeah it is definitely on my Christmas list for some undefined year in the future. That is good to hear your opinion on what it is like to own one and that you have had such good luck with it. I am never too sure how far to take amazon reviews and such. Crossing my fingers that in a year or so, a Thermomix will be gracing my kitchen counter.
May I ask a follow-up question here. Dave Asprey, the founder of BPC, suggests that most coffee is problematic because it contains harmful mold. Do Nespresso pod coffees and espressos fit this description?
Dave Asprey also sells very expensive coffee…
does that answer your question?
