I’ve been using Bob’s Red Mill super fine almond flour for all my baking and have had some reasonable success. My husband says it’s “ok” but kinda grainy. I assumed that was just a characteristic of almond flour but I just read a recipe that recommended 2 other brands over Bob’s Red Mill because they were finer ground. Anyone here compared brands or have a recommendation?
My recommendation is that you try this Cranberry Bliss Bundt Cake! It was easy, beautiful and very tasty. A little dense ( kinda like pound cake) and not super sweet (I used half the amount of Pyure). I topped mine with sliced almonds. Not a fan of sugar free craisins and the crunch really added something anyway. Enjoy!
Best almond flour? And Cranberry Bliss Bundt Cake
I actually make my own almond flour. Usually I use the food processor, although that doesn’t make of fine at all but it’s okay for what I need it for. If I do need done flour, however, I have this cheap hand grinder that works really well. Well, it’s really fiddly if you actually use it the way it’s intended, but using a bit of clever engineering to attach a drill and proper feeding tray and it becomes a 200 watt almond crushing monster.
I just buy ground almonds and zap them in the nutribullet if it needs to be finer.
I’ll have to tell my husband that’s his project! If he gets to use his power tools, he might get interested in keto. Lol
Don’t have a nutribullet, but maybe sending it through my food processor will help. Thanks!
I don’t bake much, But was using Trader Joe’s almond Meal (definitely not fine) when I saw Blue Diamond almond Flour in Costco. Big bag, think it was $11…way Finer ground. Works great in the few recipes I’ve tried over Xmas. I also use Pyure and at half the amounts in most recipes.
I have made my own and find it quite bitter. I think already-ground almond flour comes from almonds that have been skinned! I’ll only buy it pre-ground now.
