Beer, Burbon, braised, baked, BACON, buffalo brats!

Hey I’m new here so I thought I could start of by contributing something.

Ingredients

  1. Beer 1 (optional)
  2. Bourbon 1 1/2 oz (optional)
  3. Brats
  4. Bacon
  5. Butter
  6. Frank’s hot sauce

Preheat oven to 450. Pour half a beer and the shot of bourbon into a small Dutch oven. Place in your brats. Put your lid on the Dutch oven and place in the oven, braise until done. Depending on thickness of brats 25-35 min.

Remove brats and let cool, turn oven down to 350. Wrap brats with 2 slices of bacon, secure with toothpicks. Place on a cooling rack on a baking sheet. Place in oven and let cook until bacon is crispy but not burnt.

While baking the bacon brats melt butter in a small sauce pan. Once melted add hot sauce to taste. Once bacon is crispy baste the bacon brats with the buffalo sauce. Return to the oven for 3 minutes, remove and baste again. Return to oven for 3 more minutes. Remove and baste again. Let rest for a couple minutes and feast!

Sorry I do not have any pictures. I will post some up next time I make them.

Edit: if you don’t want to use the beer or Burbon just boil the brats in water. Still great

Beautiful. Sounds delicious

Sounds good…what ( brand ) brats do you use?

(Eric) #4

I get them from my local butcher and are zero carb. Most brands I’ve found are 0-2 carbs

Nice!
Yeah. Was wondering about the carbs an or sugar
Thank You

The only thing with carbs is probably the brats most have 1-2. I’m not sure how the beer carbs affect it as a braising liquid though. But use a beer around 4 carbs and only use half a can that at absolute most is 2 carbs for the entire dish plus the carbs from brats

You had me at alliteration…
