Beef broth

(Jason) #1

Hey guys I made some homemade beef broth and left the fat in it. Is there a good source of macro nutrition sheet for this?

Maybe try MyFitnessPal app

Yes I tried that. No luck.

You can estimate it visually. The fat floats to the top. If you transfer the broth to a jar for storage (as example) and you notice 1/10 of the broth is the top fat layer and 9/10 is broth, then you have 10% beef tallow and 90% beef broth.

This reference is for 8oz.

There’s an interesting article about analysis of various types of home made broth here:

I would also do a visual estimate for fat content or separate the tallow from the broth.
