Beef Bone Broth Pressure Cooker - How Long

(Eric - The patient needs to be patient!) #1

Hello Keto friends,

I make chicken bone broth in a conventional pressure cooker for 3.5 hrs under pressure. Actually, today I will make a batch. Yes, an instant pot is on my wish list.

I recently got these beef bones from a local butcher:

You can see how big the joint is by comparing it to the coffee cup.

With chicken, I add a couple of tablespoons of vinegar and plan to do the same with beef. How long should I keep the bones under pressure? The chicken bones get very soft but I have read that beef bones don’t.

Thanks all

If you can, use a hacksaw to split that hip bone.

Also, set a pot to a rolling boil. Add the bones for 10 minutes. Then drain. Scrub the bones. This will help create a clearER beef bone broth.

If you can go 3 hours for chicken, go 6-7 for beef. If use 5lb pressure though. No need for higher.

Roast them after scrubbing. Cover with beef or pork fat. Salt. Roast for half hour to 45 minutes.

Then into pressure cooker
