Baked zucuchini FREEDOM fries LoL,

Has any one ever tried this? I think I want too. I sorely miss french fries smothered in cheddar cheese dipped in ranch sauce.

So change the recipe to forgo the parmesan cheese and cover in cheddar.

My goal is turn them into this, something like this pic… Not such a hefty amount of course, but to get that taste that I miss from Outback cheese fries.

Sorry for the constant edits on this, but found a outback recipe clone that will probably get that taste more by incorporating the below into the zucuchini reciepe.

1 Tablespoon Salt
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
3/4 teaspoon ground black powder
1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
1/8 teaspoon ground thyme
TOPPING:
1 cup shredded monteray jack
1 cup shredded cheddar
1 slice Bacon Cooked, crumbled

I am really interested in french fry alternatives myself. Mostly I want to get my children to try more veggies. I attempted kale chips this week and they were a total fail. I did think of zucchini chips. I will look for a recipe to research this weekend.

Yeah, so I’m going to rewrite that recipe and give it a try this weekend.

What I plan on doing is taking 2 zucchini, chopping them into fry size. dipping them in egg. Dip them to coat them in a bowl with 1 tablespoon salt, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/8 teaspoon thyme. Then get a baking pan and put parchment paper on it with a light coat of virgin olive oil. Bake it as the recipe says at 425 degrees for 15 minutes but rotating them until they have golden crisp.

Then cook 1 slice of bacon and make crumbled bacon to douse them with. Melt down some Monterrey jack cheese and cheddar cheese to cover them with. Dip in ranch.

True test will be if my kids like it. LoL. I have no doubt I will, I love zucchini.

Ok so I made them, and noticed it really shouldn’t have but a pinch of pepper if any. I used that 3/4 teaspoon and it was too much.

Also, I screwed up thinking you dunk them in the seasoning after dipping in egg. That makes big clumps of seasoning on them, ick. just sprinkle with your fingers the seasoning.

So wasn’t so good for me, but cause I screwed it up. I think could taste good.

Include pulverized pork rinds in the coating. That’ll give you some “crisp,” and you can either bake or fry them and I bet they’ll turn out nicely.

I did the same thing and found the fries came out very salty and no real crispiness.
