Astonished

Hello,
Having started Keto a few weeks ago I was going great. Some weight loss, feeling good, energetic, overcoming dislike of veg.
Disaster or perhaps not.
Family came to stay, continued eating carefully at home but… lots of eating out, including arranging and hosting big Birthday luncheon for friends, followed by (next day) champagme and cake tea. Family now gone and much to my astonishment have not gained any weight, have actually lost a kilo.:scream:
Woopee.

That is awesome! Now get back on track and ditch the carbs!

It seems to me - anectdotal evidence only, mostly an opinion formed from reading here and watching myself - that moving to keto makes you more aware, but not paranoid, about what you eat, and thus less potentially-dodgy foods get eaten. So even if you go there, it’s in a more controlled way rather than a “eat all you want!” way.

Yes. You’re absolutely right, I didn’t overindulge - probably a first for me, having always been greedy. So a valuable lesson for me and also of more importance really, I didn’t upset or disappoint the family who had travelled over to be with me and have no idea that I am eating differently from them. A win win.
