sousvide

We all got excited about the starbucks sous vide bites… until we saw how many carbs they have. Anova just did a blog post on making your own

Yet another thing making me lean towards getting an Anova.

That said, the picture in the post showing 2% milk made me want to cry…

Yea, but none of the actual recipes used milk.

I must do this.

I must get my wife to do this.

Funny. I got my wife an Instant Pot for Christmas, and she loves it…because I ended up being the one to use it more often than not, which means that she gets a break from cooking.

Perhaps that should be my strategy for justifying getting the Anova. That and saving money by buying cheaper cuts of meat (though we can already do that to a degree with the IP).

I don’t have an Anova, but I’m definitely making bacon and Gruyere mini egg muffins this weekend!

But you can’t have a beautifully tender medium rare chuck steak with the Instant pot.
IP is great for making roasts and such but the Sous Vide is superior if you like your steaks on the rarer side.
I can put a chuck steak in in the morning and by 5pm I sear it in the cast Iron and you can cut it with a butter knife.

This is a grass fed steak not one of those overfed marblized grain fed jobs.
