This was an excellent watch!
Another Carnivore Thread
With me, pre-keto, it was more connected to depletion of my DAO pool. Of course, the symptoms were progressively worse and worse and more frequent. Sometimes it was one meal that would set off a reaction, sometimes it was a week of forbidden items… More and more foods began bothering me, even those that don’t have high histamine levels…it was just a constant battle that I couldn’t win or fight anymore.
I was running into similar trouble, but it started about a year into keto. I’m wondering if it has anything to do with oxalates? I, too, became more and more sensitive to foods, When I started keto, I also started ingesting a lot more oxalate containing foods: lots of greens, nuts, and berries.
Thinking about it now, I’m betting all the oxalate is what caused my Mg deficiency. Getting my Mg up where is should be also seemed to decrease the strange reactions I would have after eating.
I’ve had a rough time with my back since June. I pulled my hamstring participating in a Tough Mudder. That messed up my back, then I was on a car accident that also messed up my back. When I went to the chiropractor, I was a little appalled at how much arthritis I have in my spine.
A month of pretty strict carnivore has my back feeling much improved. I’m wondering how much of that arthritis could also be from oxalate?
I’m looking forward to sticking to carnivore for some time and see what happens to my arthritis. I wonder if arthritis can be reversed, or just halted in its tracks?
Is that two pounds of lean, or two pounds of fat? If the former, does the scale number matter?
I love your post. Thru elimination you are finding great benefits and seeing improvements. Nothing is better than that…sorry you do have to detox thru it all tho
Your joints will definitely improve! Can we reverse arthritis, I don’t think so because I think that is a true joint erosion of the bone and more in that joint, reverse? hmm, but halt more damage or severely slow it darn, yea I definitely think so on that.
And we all know the more we slow things down the better our daily lives are and long term
Happy for you!!
I connected it more to “leaky gut,” I had so much inflammation that my immune system was reacting to EVERYTHING, oxalates, gluten, who knows what else. The first few months of keto were horrible, my body needed such a long time to get back to “normal.” I still have some blotchiness from time to time, but long gone are swollen fingers, itchy skin, brain fog, and horrible migraines.
I think our bodies are so complex, we could connect so many things to so many different symptoms…it could be oxalates, it could be just a back injury or a genetic predispotion to who knows what else
It’s been two pounds of fat but I’ve been playing with those two pounds for a while now so it’s not even a major “con.” More likely just my body trying to figure out what’s going on.
I found that a lot of my back pain was tomatoes. I just thought I was getting older but it was food related. I no longer have backaches unless I do something stupid.
Had a visit from a unicorn (carnivore lady).
So we had ribeye to celebrate. These were big thick ones well over 1lb each.
HI and welcome
