3 Weeks In, Not Too Impressed, Ready to Give Up

Champ, that’s really not true for many people. Just get the carbs very low - that’s all it takes for vast numbers of people to get good results. The fine-tuning of fat/protein is important for some people, but definitely not for all.

Please be careful with Potassium supplements. Speaking as an RN, potassium is the chemical for the heart muscles, if it is too high- bad, too low-bad… and always let your doctor know what supplements you are taking. Potassium blood levels normal range is 3.5-5.0. I have just seen enough to throw out a caution. You sound like you are doing really well. I have only been doing this since Aug 27, I am not dropping weight, but my clothes fit differently, I have more energy even when I don’t sleep well. I use CarbManager also and I just use it as a guide to keep my carbs down and make sure I am getting enough fat. I noticed for my own self, that when I haven’t eaten enough fat in the day, I feel off. For me, I just have a hard time getting enough fat in due to life, circumstances, and my lack of knowledge of quick pick up foods that would be good keto options… though I did come across the Cheesewich and that has been a great go-to for my lunch. Hang in there. Don’t cause yourself too much anxiety over the parameters, listen to your what your body is telling you. Fasting can be as short, or as long, as you like. Many don’t remember what hunger pangs are from years of overeating and ignoring them, and learn to fast just long enough until they are sure that is what they are having. As your body becomes more fined tuned, your fasts may be longer. We are all individual and unique. But be PROUD at how far you have come!!

I believe most apps are based on a calories in calories out plan. That isnt what keto is (But I do think it becomes a little more important when you are close to goal weight). Get real butter. The kind without canola or vegetable oil in it. Start using it on your veggies and steak. That is a fast way to up calories from fat. You can also use Avocado oil and coconut oil to add fat without upping carbs or protein. I think this way of eating can help you if we can figure out what is off. Also I dont remember if you said somewhere that you tested at all for keynotes

That is some sweet meat porn

(Running from stupidity) #430

And only $40!

#431

You are stealing that ass!!! Are those all your rumps?

(Running from stupidity) #432

No chance, I’m way bigger than that…

I recommend AD Keto’s weekly updates with his wife, who just started keto. It is a slow process for her too. Most women find that it is a slower process than it is for men. Do not be discouraged, our hormones/chemistry apparently make things more complicated.

Have to agree with that Kirk. It was like watching a bush-fire burning out of control, sometimes you just gotta sit back, crack open a beer  and wait until the flames die down a little. :fire: :fire: :fire:

(Blessed with butter ) #436

Had to do it😊

(Running from stupidity) #437

That looks very difficult!

(Blessed with butter ) #438

Nope you just go next door to the restaurant and order. Lol

(Running from stupidity) #439

Even that would be too difficult for some, it seems. (see earlier in thread) “What, I have to open the door? This is too complicated”

@Judy1437 that looks really delicious!!!

Hi Freak
I am the femail version of you, work hard, live away from home during the week (really hard for food prep) and I am three weeks in. First week water loss was 7lbs and nothing since then. I’m cycling, IF for about 16 hours every night/morning and nothing, not a single oz shifted up or down!
I’m having similar thought!
Today feeling really rough, have had terrible sleep this week, a cold and general lowness. I’m hoping it’s Keto flu! I’m definitely in ketosis but clearly not fat adapted yet.
Head says keep going heart and scales say ‘give up again looser’!!
Thanks for your post I feel more inclined to keep going!

Baytowvin I would like to thank you for the amazing amount of wisdom and patience you showed dealing with the troll, your responses were extremely informative and in the end highly entertaining! As a newbie I learnt a massive amount just by following, cheers mate!

#443

I totally thought the same thing. He’s a trooper. Though I gotta wonder, @Baytowvin, be honest, were you just procrastinating on some chore your wife assigned to you? :joy:

I plead the 5th…

For our friends in the UK, that’s a Constitutional Amendment that, among other things, protects against self incrimination.
