28 day fast journey!

#1

Hey everyone, this is my first post here. I’ve toyed with keto and fasting for a few months now, however, I’ve slipped up a couple of times, so I’m going to restart my journey today. My goal weight is 170lb.

The title is a little misleading, currently I’m on day 2, this thread is where I’ll be logging the entirety of my journey with daily weigh-ins, electrolyte supplementation and how I’m feeling in general. I won’t be logging my water intake because keeping track of that is a pain. I drink anywhere between 2-4L of water a day, though.

Day 1:
Weight: 219.2lb
Total loss: -
Electrolytes: 1500mg Sodium Chloride
Notes: No lethargy, just incredibly hungry. Constant waves of hunger pains followed by stomach growling, full of motivation and drive to get this going though.

Day 2:
Weight: 216.6lb
Total loss: 2.6lb
Electrolytes: 2000mg Sodium Chloride, 1500mg Potassium Citrate
Notes: Feeling pretty lethargic today, a minor headache but I’m trying to kick the caffeine as well, so I assume the headache is down to withdrawals. No real hunger pains yet, used a keto-stix but it showed that I wasn’t in ketosis, yet.

This is my second attempt at an extended fast. The first time, I lasted 32 hours - was shooting for 3-4 days. I had the same symptoms as you - very hungry. This time, I ate extra fat as my last meal, and it’s been pretty easy so far! Not super hungry at all - more like “I could eat” kind of feeling. Shooting for 4 days. Coming up on 48 hours now.

Anyway, good luck. Will be looking forward to following along.

Great thread I’m looking forward to hearing your progress. I am planning a fat fast and then I’m going to add some protein over the next two weeks. I plan to start fat fasting for 5 days starting Tuesday night after my last meal and then after 5 days of a fat fast I plan to add protein for the next 9 days. I’m looking forward to hearing your progress and how you’re feeling. Are you doing a complete water fast or are you planning to take some food in as well. I have actually found that I lose more weight and feel better doing a fat fast then a water fast.
Although it’s not about weight loss for me I do lose less weight doing a water fast and it seems to come back rather quickly after I start eating again

Did this fast end?

I was hoping to catch a ride…
