Just a little warning for those on HCTZ. Someone close to me ended up having their doctor tell them to go to the Emergency Room this past weekend due to a serious problem of low potassium level on their blood test. The person was only going to do a 5 day fast but at 5 days theyfelt good and wanted to go further and they did 10 days. Just be careful if you’re on HCTZ and definitely check with your doctor before doing an extended fast! Everything is back to normal potassium levels now.
10 day fast + Hydrochlorothiazide = low potassium and an ER visit

And this warning goes toward ANY medication. Doing an extended fast, while on ANY medication, without consulting your doctor, is a no-no.
