Zero noodles- what is going on in my stomach?

I don’t hate the noodles when I’m craving a side dish, I have them maybe once a month. The shiritaki “rice” is a different story. Slippery little rubber balls. For some reason I invariably get a piece up my nose.

I like the Konjac noodles, to me they taste very like rice noodles and I use them the same. Veg stir fry or chicken noodle soup or with a Thai green curry. Just be aware sometimes the don’t get digested well and “come out” similar looking to how they went in (my husband, not me🤣). You can also get rice and pasta but as already said these aren’t as nice, the rubbery texture isn’t nice when thick.

Have never had this brand but have been eating Konjac noodles for years. Love them but they must be cooked properly. I always drain, rinse, drain, then dry or oil fry them. Then I add whatever I would to a pasta dish while they are in the pan. Pesto, tomator sauce, alfredo. There are stories of people having issues but I have not. I eat it anywhere from twice a week to once a month, depending on my mood. My current favorite brand is Skinny Pasta. I do not recall ever having a stomach hangover from them (get it from Chinese food, sometimes the next day my stomach hurts). I do not consume a lot of fiber otherwise but it does not bother me

When I have to have noodles (like for my cold greek salad, or when serving to my son and husband who can eat higher carbs that me,) I use Solved Pasta. It actually tastes almost exactly like regular pasta and has the same texture both al dente and fully cooked. They are half the carbs of regular pasta, so it’s not a zero carb alternative, but if it’s infrequent it can fit into a low carb diet quite well.

For my Greek salad, there is so much cheese and sausage and other veggies that I can get away with half the amount of pasta it normally called for. Then with half the carbs in the Solved Pasta, that means each serving has 1/4 the carbs it used to have. But the taste is exactly the same if not better.

I was very relieved to find this product. Again it is for infrequent use. This is not a product we eat regularly or even weekly. It’s about once a month. One bag makes 2-3 meals.

Skinny Pasta is my brand as well, I like that it never has that fishy smell some of the other konjac products I’ve tried. (The cat would get so excited, sure we’re having shrimp! He has no even passing interest in Skinny Pasta). I actually just rinse and then heat them in the microwave and drain. The heating seems to release some extra water, otherwise they can make sauces very dilute. When I do make myself “italian food” it’s usually a ground beef based sauce (with Rao unless I’m feeling very ambitious), and skinny angel hair pasta.

My husband once accidentally took some to go with some meatballs. He was very disappointed. They were selling it cheaply at BJs but have stopped. I guess it was not an in demand item
