You know there is a keto version of that, right?

Of what, you ask ? Whatever ! Seriously though, you have a phone, or a PC right ? And if you don’t already have Pinterest, you can have it two minutes from now. So whatever you want, type it in, and you will have all kinds of recipe choices for anything you can think of. Ice cream, pizza, cakes, donuts, hamburgers, etc, etc.
Most of the Keto recipes my GF and I make are at least “as good” as the high carb versions. Some are better.
Doing keto for a year now, and I am yet to find a reason to have a big pile of carbage for a treat. Just no reason to “cheat myself”.

I think that would be more likely if I were doing some kind of crazy strict, all natural, grass fed, organic, super clean keto… But luckily, I don’t have to concern myself with all that

Nothing can replace even rice (for me. I know it works for others), let alone the very unique fruits or many baked goods… We don’t need to eat everything, of course but I can understand choosing the carby stuff sometimes or just feeling temptation and knowing nothing on keto can compare. Maybe they are better but nothing like the object of our desire.
And sweets can be a problem even if they are keto.

So there are limits, more for some but there are great keto versions of things indeed. Even if they are different, they may be good, even way better than the carby versions.
I definitely prefer my keto ice cream and it’s usually even lactose free… (A lot of HWC isn’t good for me at all.)
Cakes are easy, I don’t consider them special, it’s normal for me not to use very carby stuff in them. I am bored with them. I eat pancakes almost every day lately. Carnivore ones.
I actually have strict limits on ingredients (even if I am strongly IIFYM if it’s about things I do eat) so recipes rarely help me. Baked goods? Filled with almond flour, out even on my normal keto. I make my own recipes - as many other people, it’s a good direction if we want keto version of things and we can’t find the right one. I don’t even try, I would need a “making anything from eggs” page for that…

The clean, “snob” attitude is totally not for some of us for sure! It works, it’s nice, it’s not harmful for why not? I surely never want a badge that I do this very properly  Food is fuel AND joy and many more… I still mostly eat eggs and meat as I just don’t desire other stuff much if I do so and they are the best things anyway, cakes never could win over some pork (and I could live without meat as I did it but I never went without sweets for a week)… But I like variety and using my old recipes (but I rework them sometimes).

I totally concern myself with the source of my meat. It even affects the taste, very, very much according to my tastebuds but there are other reasons as well. It’s not some crazy shit for sure.
We have very different attitudes anyway. I totally respect people who have strict rules and they stick to them. I just won’t do the same. I don’t resist temptation. I train myself to not get tempted with bad food if possible. My simple keto food is tasty and simple. Sometimes I like to play a lot with making some food but I can get a great meal without much work…

It’s simplest if one is happy with a few items and don’t need all that complicated stuff to make keto versions. I totally understand that side too - as long as they don’t say we ALL need to do some strict keto they imagine. Nope, we want different things from keto and it’s fine.

TY Shinita. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have to eat really complicated either. As long as I have beef, eggs, and dairy stuff, I’m pretty good. But I do love to eat, and luckily, I have a GF who loves to experiment with all kinds of stuff…
Last night she made some dish that used kale, cauliflower, a bunch of cheddar cheese, cream cheese, sausage, butter, seasonings… I’m probably missing something… But it was awesome. Had to stop myself from going back for 3rds :grinning:

She cooks something fancy like this probably 3 or 4 days a week… And some kind of sweet keto desert maybe 4 or 5 days a week.

Again, I could eat fewer things, in more bulk, but thankfully, I don’t have to. As my GF keeps it interesting.

But right now, it’s time for steak and eggs and keto toast :slightly_smiling_face:

What is a carnivore pancake?
