Yoga lovers unite!

I started yoga 4 years ago when my gym started offering classes. I was 40, tired, overweight, and out of shape. Now my yoga teacher asks me to pose for her to take pics in the yoga clothes she sells! I have come a long way for sure!
If you are a yogi, do you mix in other kinds of exercise too? I try to do yoga 3 x a week and cardio and weights 2x a week. How do you mix it up?

I started yoga in my 20’s. It was so cool to learn a way to move that wasn’t sports, cardio or a step aerobics VHS (thanks Mom!)

Now I incorporate it into almost everything. What used to be simple stretch turns into a pose for a minute and it’s not only physically refreshing, but puts my head into a nice place. Now that I’m lifting weights at home I’m incorporating yoga moves afterward to help stretch out the tight muscles.

My favourite yoga is yin yoga, which I find to be very relaxing, but since it’s very good for stretching, it has helped my flexibility a lot as well.
