Win win

I went shopping with my hubby yesterday, he apparently needs new waders for :duck: hunting season and needed some company while buying them. I decided while we were there I would try on some shirts, there is a particular brand I have always liked but could never fit into. Well while I’m looking at different ones the sales lady appears and tells me “ma’am, I think you are in the wrong section” and I instantly went into sensitive mode. I hung the shirts back on the rack and turned to walk away so she wouldn’t see the tears that started rolling down my cheeks. Like a sweet little angel sent from above she placed her hand on my shoulders, turned me around and says “ the women’s petite are over there”…that young lady earned her commission yesterday, I now own 6 different colors of the new shirt and my hubby has decided from this point on he can handle wader shopping on his own!!! I feel like it was a win win :partying_face:

This is awesome; Becky!! Congrats =). What a fantastic NSV for you, I am happy for you. Enjoy your 6 new shirts =).

@Momof5
Thanks so much, I’ve been stalled so long I was beginning to question if I was wasting my time, sometimes it just takes a random stranger to remind us we are doing ok! I’ve enjoyed all of your posts and appreciate you taking the time to read mine!

I am very excited for everyone on the forum when they have successes. We are all doing Keto for better health and vitality; most of us also for the weight loss (I know not everyone is interested in that element of course) but when we can get into smaller sizes, and can walk easier, and don’t have to take pain killers to go up and down a flight of stairs, then these are all non scale victories too. Keto is definitely an entire lifestyle change for the betterment of us all; but I know the slow losses or being stalled can be very frustrating at times (my thread has some of my own frustrations on this too!) but I am happy I found out about Keto and slow and steady wins the race =).

Ha! What a well-told NSV.

Congratulations on these new additions to your wardrobe. I suggest you now ask hubbie where you’re going out together for a series of dinners this month so you can try out a different new shirt for each outing. And sure, he can wear his waders if he wants. :clinking_glasses:

This brings a joy tear to my eye. Congratulations!

@SomeGuy
I love how you think lol but for now I have got to realize that my dear sweet hubs is romance challenged :crazy_face: during this time of year he considers date night to be me plucking his kill…but yet again it’s another win, at least his hobby fills my freezer with yummy fatty duck!!

(PSackmann) #8

I think I’m now glad my husband isn’t a hunter :grinning:

(Becky) #9

@goohsmom
The couple that plucks together stays together :wink:

I have tears of Joy for you. This is totally as in “Totally Awesome!”

(Rebecca 🌸 Frankenfluffy) #11

Wow, Becky, what an amazing experience that was - you’ve made me feel weepy all of a sudden! What a terrific NSV!

(Becky) #12

Awe, thanks everyone, I never would have thought this journey would have so many emotions involved. I honestly feel like we are our worst enemy, and for her, a complete stranger, to acknowledge something that I didn’t even realize I was seeking at that moment, gratification, the poor thing probably thought I was nutty. I was so proud of myself in that moment…right up until checkout…:money_mouth_face: lol
I think I’ve just been awakened, silly as that may sound!

Loved this story. Congrats, and I hope you remember you are a petite these days. Body image is a hard one for most of us. I still have moments when I am looking at sizes that would swallow me if I tried them on, but thinking “this might fit, especially if I lost a few more lbs”

(Marianne) #14

Awww, I love this!

I’m not at my goal weight, but already am enjoying buying clothes.

(Becky) #15

Please don’t let me mislead anyone, I’m not to my goal yet, but each day gets me closer. Hearing someone other than family or friends talk about my somewhat smaller size really motivates me tho!! And thank you all for the kind words, this place has been a lifesaver to me!!

(Scott) #16

Great story but I was wondering at first if your husband was going to ask “do these waders make my butt look big?” :rofl:

(Becky) #17

@Rclause
I’m rolling right now :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

(Bob M) #18

I had a similar thought. This is a great story (GREAT! My wife would love it.), but it’s unlikely men would ever have the same type of situation. Unless there’s some section for “big and large” men, but usually everything is in one location.

(Becky) #19

UPDATE: hubby has ordered his waders online…says he thinks it’s cheaper that way :roll_eyes::thinking: he may have a point! Poor thing, I haven’t enjoyed shopping since before our daughter was born, she’s 7, so he has to adjust to the new me as well!!

(squirrel-kissing paper tamer) #20

I’m so glad she made a point to tell you what she meant. It made the difference between a terrible experience and a great one. Thanks so much for sharing!
