Hi everyone I am currently at 170lb but i am only 14 so i am looking forward to losing to maybe 20 to 25 pounds and was reconsidering this because I might get loose skin if I lose to much weight from ketosis
Will I get loose skin
Because of your age and the small amount of weight you want to lose, I don’t think you’ll have any loose skin problems.
I am much older, and already lost 70 pounds. Using fasting has been helping me with not having any lose skin. Given that you have youth on your side, and I am hoping support of family/doctor, I think you have not much to worry about when it comes to the chance of loose skin. Just my 2 cents at least…
Unlikely. You’re still elastic at that age.
Despite what others are saying, it is possible that you’ll be left with loose skin, even at your age; but it depends…
Has your weight-gain caused stretch-marks? If so, it will never shrink back completely and you’ll be left with some loose skin. If not, you won’t (and whether or not someone gets stretched skin from weight-gain, growth and/or pregnancy is largely genetic – some of us do at even low levels of gain or growth, and some never do, even at extreme weight-gain/growth. That said, the sheer fatty-acid-, protein-, and nutrient-density of keto will maximise the skin’s repair, as much as it is maximisable).
However, even if you are left with loose skin, do remember that that is a lot better - and a lot healthier - than being obese (and some loose skin, within limits of course, can be filled-out with weight-work and muscle development; just as it will contract, to a degree).
This gave me a good laugh. Someone’s either got major carb fog going on or is bending the truth re their age…lol
Whether or not the OP is legitimate, it is a reasonable question. But firstly, loose skin is not likely except when one loses weight so fast that autophagy can’t keep up. A teenager on the verge of his or her growth spurt and with only 25 pounds to lose is highly unlikely to lose such a small amount that fast, and even if it could happen, the likelihood is that he or she would grow into the skin at some point. Now, if this were a teenager who needed to lose 250 pounds, not 25, the story would be different. But the premise of the question is actually off-base, since many kids have lost 25 pounds of fat during their growth spurt, even when not on a ketogenic diet.
See? I still have likes, because I dispense them carefully . . .
It’s adorable that you DO care.
Heh.
note to self, must find more trigger points
