High School Weight - How close are you?

I’m a few pounds less than I was in high school…however that’s when I started yoyoing. :grinning:

I am a little over 20lbs heavier than HS. I’m not trying to get down to HS weight since I now carry a lot more muscle. I am going to try on my size 3 (30+ years ago size 3, not today’s) Prom dress at the end of the year! That should be a hoot :joy:. I will NOT be trying to recapture that perm though :scream:

#11

Oh lord - I had a spiral perm

Girl! Same, but mine was also short! :woman_facepalming:

I have always been overweight or obese. I was 203 in 8th grade. 170-180 my senior year of high school. Three kids and 25 years later, I’m 197 so I am fairly close.

#15

Which leg are you talking about?

(Frank) #16

This morning I am 1 pound heavier than I was as 14 yr old post pubescent. I’m about 25 lbs lighter than I was as a graduate at 17.

There’s no way I’m getting to my high school (or college) weight. I was 165 pounds and played the line on a football team (small school). Wanted to be a bodybuilder, so was much stronger then. Years of bodybuilding and other injuries (torn rotator cuffs, back issues) have taken their toll. Also, even with a lot of IF and long term fasting, and low carb/keto, I’m still ā€œobeseā€ by BMI (which, admittedly, is crap, as it does not take muscle mass, body shape, or genetics into account). I’m losing weight and gaining some muscle back, but I’ll never be near my high school/college weight, nor will I ever be ā€œnormalā€ weight per BMI (and when I was younger and more muscular, I was ā€œoverweightā€, even when I could see all the muscles in my quads and all the arteries/veins in my arms).

I was close to my heaviest in HS. 25# less than that now 20 yrs later.

(Connie Ortz) #19

I’m 6 lb heavier than when I graduated, and about 19 heavier than when I got married (my lowest weight as an adult). But I am also the lowest weight I have been since BC (before children). When I realized that none of my kids have ever seen me this size, that was a real eye-opener. They are 30, 29, and 25.

I am at the weight I was during my sophomore year before I dropped about 35 pounds so not exactly the HS goal I’m shooting for - but after losing 93 over the past several years, I am pleased. I’ve shrunken an inch since high school - dang aging! Consequently, I would need to drop another 40 to be where I was and if I could I would be over the moon but my goal weight is less than 30 away.

(Doug) #21

Same weight, give or take 100 pounds.

(Keto Travels) #22

End of High School - That’s my target weight. Not slim exactly, but if I can get to the same weight with less visceral fat and a few more muscles that will be fab … still 14kg to go but almost half way there from highest recorded weight

#23

I’m about 10-15 lbs up from high school. But not distributed the same. I was a pretty serious athlete at the time and hadn’t yet had two kids! Working on getting near that weight again, but we shall see. . .

(Karen) #24

I weighed 108 in high school. I weigh 155 now. I’m a long ways off

(Vladaar Malane) #25

Interesting topic OP.

I actually dieted my senior year in high school, because I was wrestling.

I remember eating a bowl of diet jello for dinner and chewing gum to spit into a cup.

I wrestled at 140 pound weight class.
I weigh 185 pounds now.

(Stephanie ) #26

I was around 150-ish in high school (i’ve always been curvy), and now I’m currently around 157-ish. So I’m close enough

(Hyperbole- best thing in the universe!) #27

I was 120-130 lb in highscool. My goal now is 140-145, I’m about 5 lb from goal. I feel like I was strong then… but 130 now would be to thin for me. So I don’t know what the recomposition is, I’m not taller. Boobs slightly bigger but certainly not 10 lb worth. :woman_shrugging:

(Jessica) #28

Oh man. If I had to guess, I’d say I’m currently about 55lbs heavier. I graduated 21 years ago.

(less is more, more or less) #29

Nor I. Did they have scales in the 70’s? That was a LONG time ago.

My pants size is down -2, though, good enough for my purposes.
