Will a complimentary breakfast break my 5 day fast?

So I’m skiing in Breckenridge for a few days before the low carb conference. … and I m 5 days fasted and planning to ski fasted. And then I learn that my room includes complimentary breakfast. That’s a real quandary. It’s going to depend on how good that breakfast looks. If it’s unlimited bacon … I may break.

Yes. “break” is in the word “breakfast”

Yeah, I travel for a living and it’s always funny to watch folks load up on the pancakes, waffels and syrup as I’m loading up on bacon, eggs and sausage patties. Be careful with the sausage patties though as I find the ones offered at US hotel chains often to be bulked with wheat products and/or corn syrup products.

If it’s a typical cheap hotel free breakfast, skip it. There’s nothing there worth breaking your fast for. The bacon is usually paper thin.

this. US hotel food, especially breakfast, tends to be awful.

I remember staying in a hotel in San Francisco, circa 1995 and turning up for the free breakfast. It was a muffin and coffee…

Don’t hold your breath for culinary delights, keep your expectations low, maybe you’ll be surprised…

Bacon will definitely be the deciding factor.
