Why so tired

3 months in. Lost 12 pound but understand it takes time. But why so tired? Never got energy boost people talk about. Had bloodwork do e and all is good. Do I need supplements? I take magnesium citrate 250mg at night and a multi vitamin in am. Carbs 16, protein 77 and fat 108. Dont drink enough I must admit .

That seems to be coming up around 1300 calories, so my question is, are you eating enough? And keeping up your sodium?

One of the regulators for energy levels is needs, ur body will adapt to whatever ur routine is, u can up ur energy levels by adding exercise to ur daily routine, also as said above eat enough.

I find adding/upping my sodium helps with energy. I add a grind to my lemon water and it’s delicious😊 helps me drink more water. Are you eating enough?

I am eating 1260 calories which is what my macros is set to by carb manager. I have a habit of going over my protein because 77g is low, I think. If I want to have wings it’s about 9 per wing so I cant have any other protein that day

Don’t go by what the app says. Go by what your body tells you.

1200 calories seems low, what’s your age, weight and height? I wouldn’t go by an app either. Listen to your body. Eat when hungry, stop when full.

+1 sodium

+1 eating more fat. Should be pretty well fat adapted by 3 months so don’t feel too bad about adding more fat. Your body is now using it for energy. If you don’t give it enough you’ll feel tired.

Agree with the other comments, electrolytes. Sodium and potassium.

The forgotten mineral is usually Potassium. It’s Sodium’s partner in critical processes. So, more salt, supplement Sodium and Potassium.

Also, depending on how long you’ve had the weight, the body’s reaction to reduced calories is to clamp down on energy output. Your body is new to this, so up you calories with fat… give it a boost of fat so it remembers how to burn it.

Depending on how low fat you used to eat, you may need to kick start the fat burning machine too. I found that Apple cider vinegar and supplementing with bile salts helped.

And finally… walk. Not for exercise. Walk to get your joints moving. The lymphatic system is important in fat transport and getting the body reconnected with this energy source.

Hope that helps

Yes but does carb manager know the keto diet, my app doesn’t. … I have to ignore the macro suggestions.

Hmm, 1260 calories will leave you feeding your brain, heart and liver and not much else.

I add a tablespoon of butter to veggies, or a tablespoon of olive oil to salad and definitely an oz or two of cream in coffee. Each is about 100 Cals. I nice pure energy boost.

Try two or three of those throughout the day for a week and see how you go.

When I first started keto I thought I had to help it and keep the calories low. I was afraid to “eat to satiety”.

Now I’m eating about 1800-2000 calories (male) and burning fat like it’s going out of style.

If you feel at all hungry then definitely eat up.

Definitely ensure enough water and sodium. They are crucial.

When you first get into keto your cells are rusty at burning fat, so they need some time to get up to speed.

Keep going.
