I really want to do an extended fast but I get soooooo tired!
Why can’t I fast longer than 24hours?
How long have you been eating Keto? If you are running on glocose as your fuel it might explain why it is difficult. Maybe you need longer without sugar inducing foods in your body.
Flesh out your intake for the group and maybe more useful suggestions will happen. Might there be something that you’re eating or drinking that is keeping you from fat adaption? Are your macros off in one direction or another? Too much or too little of something?
Up until October last year, I was easily fasting 3 - 5 days per week. Once I got close to my goal weight, my body refused to let me fast for more than 24 hours. I believe my body is struggling to release the rest of its fat stores. Some people say you need to increase your fat intake…that only caused me to gain weight and made me feel hungrier. But it works for a lot of people so I can’t dismiss the advice. I have since started increasing my protein intake. After 4 months of not attempting any EF, I am now in the middle of a 3 day fast and its going well with minimal hunger.
I do have a hard time meeting protein requirements and I’m 15-20 pounds from goal. (24 lost).
I think I also have a hard time eating enough calories. I don’t want to eat when I’m not hungry!?!
Could those issues make a difference in fasting?
And how is a 24 hour fast different from one meal a day???
I’ve had that issue, too. I tend to stall when my protein is too low.
Only anecdotal, but just sharing.
24 hr fast = OMAD as far as I know.?
24 lbs in 5 months is great by all standars. Maybe your body knows best why it’s protesting the fast. KCKO.
