What type of Keto?

#1

I began keto last month, and after taking a week off this one, I was more than eager to get back on it. At the time I was doing just the standard diet, but I’m beginning to workout again, so I’m curious whether or not I need to switch to TKD or CKD, and if so - which one. My main goal right now is to cut off a few more pounds (18% bf, wanting to get to at least 13%) while building muscle. Primarily I’m going to be doing bodyweight/calisthenics, HIIT, and lots of cardio/endurance training. More than likely will be transitioning back to OMAD, too, if that helps.

So let me get this straight
You have less than 8 weeks under your belt, and were not keto for one week?
You would like to do the whole gambit of exercise from workout to cardio?

Did you make it to fat adaption?

TKD and CKD will work, but I think it depends upon a number of factors, you have my goals I am at 18% and I want to go to 9.5, but I am straight keto at the moment and for the most part I am still loosing. I have been as of recent doing BMR increases which seems to help a lot with energy and productivity but not so much for tone. I want to build slow twitch muscles and started to use exercise to failure about 2 months ago(I have not been able to do much with it do to work at the moment also the reason for the BMR increase.)

I suppose if your goal is to do all of those exercises TKD would be better but i think that matters how old you are and how fit you are. My goal is to stay in keto and build, I don’t believe the need to boost carbs exists until you hit the crazy nuts level of building. I just want to look good and be stronger. By building the slower twitch muscles that increases your TDEE as well so you burn more fat just sitting there.

If you never made it to fat adaption you are going to have a hard time with the cardio, and HIT will suffer. Resistance not so much, calisthenics probably some. If you do TKD and you burn off the carbs you should be ok but I don’ think that would be the case with CKD. Everyone is different so it may work for you, but I know in my case if I had a day with carbs I would be ruined for at least 2 based on recent experience.
