What to eat in Brittany, France?

(Ellen) #1

I’ve been invited over to Brittany in August to spend a week with some friends, they are super supportive and always cook keto when I’m with them (I see them in London at least once a month) but I’ve never been to France or even eaten French food, I know I could keto most things and they have great meats & cheeses but any extra recommendations would be hugely appreciated.

What to eat in Brittany ? Practically everything ! Butter, cream, rillettes, and they actually have cheese here ! And fishes and loads of stuff…
You’ll be fine.

Bon appetit !

Butter, cream, more butter, more cream.
Don’t forget the chickens there, they are wonderful.
Did I mention butter and cream???:smiling_imp:

You can get diced bacon there called lardons. Just about every supermarche sells it. I was making omlettes daily on my last trip and just dumping in the lardons. Or bake up a heap of it and take it around with you for a snack anytime…mmmm.

Food, definitely food. My favorite thing to eat :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I believe they have a specialty there which is pickled cucumbers cut lengthwise into long, thin, segments… I think they are called Brittany Spears?

Seriously…

Seafood, meat, cheese - several local specialties BUT if you won’t be back soon, don’t avoid some of the local carby awesomeness - a Kouign Aman is incredible if you like pastries and the crepes are pretty cool too.

Keto is for life (but not always for vacations )
