What to do instead of eat?

(Ryan Tuttle) #1

Hey guys new here. Long story short ive been trying to eat low refined carb and recently switched to low carb high fat and no refined carbs which is producing great results.

Yesterday was the first day i noticed i wasnt particularly hungry and today i wasnt either. It was weird because i knew i didnt want to eat if i wasnt hungry but i wasnt sure what to do with myself in place of eating.

Im realizing i used to spend a lot of time on daily rituals that related to preparing and eating food that i no longer need.

What have you done to replace those habits?

I have a Kindle. I read to occupy my hands at work. At home, there’s always something that needs doing so I go do that.

My house has never been cleaner and my yard/lawn has never looked better!

Good for you, Ryan. Watch movies, TV, shows on my iPad, play internet games, read, check out his forum, think about food, 2 or 3 times a day, but it passes and pretty soon the day is done.

At “mealtimes” I like to read and relax. I also tend to have a portion of my day’s water and talk with my family about the day.

If you play a musical instrument, teach yourself a piece. I’m currently re-teaching myself the first Contrapunctus of Bach’s Art of Fugue, and I can tell you, it wipes thoughts of food or other concerns out the window!

THIS! So true.

I tend to eat keto foods even when I’m not hungry, and I overeat more frequently than I’d care to admit. If I listened to my body these last few pounds would be coming off so quickly, I’m barely hungry and I get full after a few bites.

Great problem to have!

I second this! I’ve played guitar for 20 some years and now I’m getting back into recording original songs and also teaching myself jazz piano.

It’s nice being able to wake up and not be starving and to not have the day revolve around what carb is next to stop me from being pissed off and cranky.
