I want to make a homemade guacamole today, but not sure what keto friendly ideas are out there that I can dip in My guacamole verses crackers or carrots etc
What to dip with guacamole
Crispy bacon
Pork rinds
Baked pepperoni slices
Cheese crisps
I’d just use a spoon! But you could make some cheese crisps (sliced processed cheese on some baking parchment on a plate in the microwave for 1 min, or heaps of finely-grated Parmesan in the oven). Or pork rinds. Or extra-crispy chaffles, cut into small pieces.
I make dips quite often - but the only thing I tend to dip into them is a teaspoon!
Are you talkin like Kraft singles? In the microwave for 1 minute? And they don’t burn?
Yup! You need to let them cool for a moment in order to crisp up. And don’t forget the parchment - otherwise you’ll never get the plate back!
Come to think of it, it might be 1 min, then stand, then 1 min, then stand. Give it a go - you’re DEFINITELY safe for one minute, honest!
Edited to say it works really well with sliced Gouda or Emmental, too.
Oh my God the information on this forum is incredible!! since I’ve discovered some of the recipes on this site especially with the chaffels, I’m a lot deeper into ketosis now than I was before. I’m hoping to see the scale move on down, I know month one I’ve lost 6.5! This makes me so happy that I can enjoy such delicious food, but such a strange feeling that you’re enjoying delicious food you feel that there’s no way you can be losing weight???!!! I will definitely try the cheese crisps, now would there be a limit to how much of my guacamole that I can eat?
I’m all about the pork rind nachos. Even if I’m just serving dips for a gathering, I’ll put a bowl of pork rinds out in place of the chips.
Very, very tasty with roasted cauliflower. I roast mine with olive oil and Valentina hot sauce, then dip in guac. Beats nachos any day.
If you haven’t already, you should check out the thread “What Did You Keto Today?..” Unbelievable what people are making!!! - AND, even more incredible, that we can eat this way and lose weight and be healthy!
I made Bacon Nachos the other day. I was going to make taco salad, but got lazy. Bacon in the oven requires less attenetion than cooking chicken or ground pork on the stove top.
They were good! Messy, but good. Another good use for guacamole!
