What is this about unfiltered apple cider vinegar?

(Eric - The patient needs to be patient!) #1

I heard Megan Ramos and Dr. Eric Berg both mention apple cider vinegar today on some podcasts. What is this about and what are your experiences. If I wanted to get some unfiltered vinegar is it carried in whole foods, Wegmans, Walmart, Kroger, etc.?

Thanks

A lot of people coming to Keto have some underlying digestive issues which ACV can help with. in my case I have low stomach acid and the ACV helps my body digest my meals (esp salads) much more quickly, and has completely eliminated the bloating and reflux I’ve suffered from for so many years. (Paradoxically, a lot of reflux is caused by low acid, as acid signals the esophageal flap to close). I drink a TBSP in a glass of water before meals. At first it was so gross, but after a couple of weeks I got to where I really don’t mind it at all. An added plus is I’m sleeping better because I can sleep on either side without waking up choking on acid! Imagine only being able to sleep in one position for 20 years! All fixed thanks to the advice I got about ACV and digestion.

I heard the same Berg podcast and my ears pricked up when he said ACV reduced insulin resistance. Is this true???

Not sure about that… although there was a sort of ‘study’ on the BBC “trust me I’m a doctor” where people taking ACV after a carb meal had lower BG than the same people after the same meal without the ACV. However if you don’t eat the carbs…
