What do you think of Oprah's Food diary?

#1

That first meal alone!! Oh my

(Richard Morris) #2

Lowish calorie high carb diet - that works for people who have low basal insulin.

A problem that Oprah does not share.

But all her trainers telling her how to diet properly … probably have low basal insulin.

slow motion train wreck in progress.

I’m starving just reading it.

#4

Right?? “1 thin slice of avacado” I want to cry

#5

I don’t even know want to know how much she is paying them for this sage advice!

#6

After reading her food diary, I think my blood sugar spiked.

how does she not know/try LCHF after so many years of dieting? A classic example of the definition of insanity…expecting different results from the same action. I get that she owns part of WW now, but seriously, if that shitworked, they’d be out of business. Just like gyms celebrating with donuts in the morning and pizza parties. They don’t really want you to get in shape, they’d lose your business.

Anyhow…

WOW! so glad I’m not doing that…2 TEASPOONS LIGHT MAYO? Literally brings back memories - & NOT good ones !!! :weary:

(Ashley Haddock) #9

Light mayo makes me sad too.

(Kathy L) #10

I KNOW! She’d be a good one to show the science to -if she’d only take the time & look at it, & do a little research! She could make a big difference as far as getting keto more " main stream"!

(Kathy L) #11

It was the 2 teaspoons that made me wanna cry! I remember very well measuring all the fats I used to eat (as well as everything else) on WW! LOL! SOOOOOO glad I’m not there any more!! Lot of guilt & bad feelings associated with that time in my life!

(Steak and iron) #12

You can pretty safely disregard anything Oprah ever says. She hasn’t been right about anything in decades.

(eat more) #13

that diary is from 2007 when she was all in love with bob greene…now THEY pay her…she’s the WW spokesperson :barf:

(eat more) #14

or ever… can’t stand her… her real career is as an opera singer “me me meeeeee”

#15

We need to get Oprah on a keto diet. If there’s one thing she is good at, it’s going on diets and spreading the news about them.

#16

Its all the meals and snacks throughout her day that remind me how I used to be on a carb based diet!

Constantly planning the next meal or snack, carrying muesli bars, stopping by mcdonalds when out etc. Keto gives me the freedom from the constant need to fuel up throughout the day and still never being fully satiated on the SAD. So glad to have left all that behind!

#17

The other thing I notice is all the brand names scattered throughout the menu. Ezekiel, slim-fast, yoplait etc. I used to like Oprah but she’s way off track these days. I’m very cynical about her motives here. Real food doesn’t have brand names.

(Stephanie Hanson) #18

I really think people eventually get so sick on SAD that they can’t think well anymore. Some sort of carb mini fog sometimes bordering on dementia. I’ve seen it so often in my line of work that I wish someone would study it.

#19

Interesting and I so agree with the compromised mental state that carbs give. also I think they can be so run down having already tried everything suggested (by the medical and dietary establishment) that they give up hope and start to believe they’re beyond help. So sad.

(Jessica) #20

Exactly!

“You mean one avocado, not one slice, right? Wait, you meant one slice??? Oh HELL no!!”
