I found these tortillas the other day that said for low carb diets. it states 4 net carbs per tortilla. I haven’t tried them yet just was wondering about making some with taco meat and some cheese and lettuce.
What do you think about this
I’ve eaten tortillas like that in the past when I considered myself “low-carb” and always ended up regretting it, but I’ve determined that under 20 grams of carbs is better for me and the closer to 0, the better.
I’m sure that there are people who can eat them and still stay in optimal ketosis, but I would not be one of them.
My wife has one on occasion, I am eating half a pound of meat, cheese, more cheese, avacado and sour cream, those little things just get in the way.
I only can see a portion of the listed ingredients. Looks like they use vital wheat gluten, soy protein and/or fibre, vegetable oils, minerals and preservatives. Not sure…hard to tell, but that is what it looks like.
If you are ok with that, go ahead and eat them.
For me, I would only eat the vital wheat gluten as a rare treat, and would rather get minerals and vitamin-like ingredients from whole foods.
It’s a personal choice.
