(Ashley) #24

Apple cider vinegar

(Diane) #25

Stir is a brand of liquid enhancer drops (like Mio) but sweetened with stevia.

I have been drinking Aldi’s flavored sparkling water. Its awesome and hasn’t spiked my blood once!

(Lisa marie t) #27

I have actually a jet stream I don’t like the sodium taste of bubbles.and with the amount I drink. …those flavored dasani waters I’d finish flat a day I’m sure.I got this drops today to try but I can not afford 5.99 every couple weeks n it has stevia too.
All I know is I’m giving my tum a rest from.the lemon juice

(Lisa marie t) #28

I get ya.I don’t force myself n I think 4 to 5 litres is best for me but on occasion 6 because I’m fighting eating.

I used to add Apple Cider Vinegar once a day, but found that I prefer drinking water, just as it was created normal water. Not that anything was wrong with ACV, other than I figured I needed to get me a steel straw to not have my teeth enamel start to erode and since I never did I gave it up. Green tea tastes better to me anyway.

Instead of ACV, I do indulge in black coffee and plain hot green tea with nothing added now.

People - DO NOT SIP anything with lemon juice or ACV throughout the day. If you’re going to consume that stuff, do it once and be done with it. The acid is hell on your teeth. besides, lemon juice has sugar in it

Just trying to save y’all’s teeth, friends. I know lemon in water is super popular, but you shouldn’t sip it. Any dentist will tell you that. Don’t let keto distract you from your overall health. Shame on you if you can’t handle plain water and have to have flavoring lol

In a slightly sideways slant on this topic, I grew up on well water and now I live in a city and find ALL the water tastes bad to me. Filtering, etc, etc, doesn’t seem to help. I always struggle with hydration with municipal water sources.

I did some research and found a local park with an artesian well. I invested in some containers and now I go fill up there. It tastes so good! They have a website and do regular (if not exactly frequent) water testing and post the results online.

I have a half gallon jug of water that I put a lemon or two into. I use water out of that jug. When I get water out, I refill it. The lemon flavors the water but there’s not much juice. Every few days I change out the lemon for a fresh one. No sugar, no sweetener, just water with the lemon in it.

Honestly, I’m not a big fan of plain water. But this has just enough flavor to keep me drinking it.

I generally add a bit of ice to my water.

No one has suggested that this is counter productive. Every other additive, someone has an opinion on.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #34

Yes, but you really should be using Himalayan pink ice (quarried by Sherpas and flown in daily) if you want the full benefits of ice water! LOLOL

(TJ Borden) #35

Actually having water too cold affects the oxygen and is really bad for you. You should really consider skipping the ice

:joy:

I think I get adequate salt from my food. But who knows?

(Banting & Yudkin & Atkins & Eadeses & Cordain & Taubes & Volek & Naiman & Bikman ) #37

Hasn’t killed me yet. I think I’m in the GRAS and not above the UL for the ice. But who knows. Could kill me tomorrow.

(TJ Borden) #38

Very possible. Ice kills a lot of people every year… not sure if it killed anyone in this context, but can’t be too careful.

Plus, you have to factor in that we have greatly decreased our chances of dying from T2D, kidney failure, heart attack, stroke, cancer, etc…

So the universe is going to be looking at creative ways to kill us.

(Steve) #39

Yeah…I somehow doubt any of us having ACV, lemon / lime juice in about a pint of water is doing anything to the enamel on our teeth. The thousands of people drinking cases of colas every week, but we’re supposed to worry about a little vinegar or juice in water?

I don’t add flavoring to my water. It’s fine by itself.
