I call my 2 orange tabbies Viking girls after seeing a documentary on Vikings and they preferred the orange tabbies on their ships as mousers.
All ships carried cats to keep the mice from eating their stores and I LOL’ed at the Vikings to prefer a cat with the same coat as their hair
True. Both orange girls prowl the outside and make their rounds every day. I would love to put a pet GoPro on my best hunter. She is a terror on mice and birds and eats (with gusto) anything she catches.
Fat Max may make it out to the front porch… but that’s about it.

Not really a beautiful walk in nature or anywhere else that put some nice views in front of me, but it was a walk nonetheless. We went to our local upmarket grocery store after pho tonight, and I went to the frozen meat section that I normally skip. I was delighted to find a bunch of interesting meats – didn’t pick any up this time but am definitely going to soon. The veal sweetbreads looked appealing.
Also picked up some duck fat from the charcuterie section.
Ya, but as grandma I can spoil him ROTTEN and give him back to his Mum and go take a nap!!!
I visited D.C. for a Labor Day weekend, years ago, and I swear the radio announcer said, “It’s going to be chilly today, wear a sweater.” And people did! We tourists in the meantime, were wallking around in T-shirts and shorts, it was so hot.
From my chilly-in-the-beginning-but-toasty-by-the-end run today. Sorry I’m not hanging out here more. The conversations are still great. I’m buried in work these days. My low-carb regimen remains strong, however.
I know, I know. Shallow narcissism and all that. Fair enough. An old fart should know better, right?
Yet, I got to admit, it’s quite pleasant not seeing multiple rolls under my chin. It doesn’t mean I’m healthy (though, thank God I am) and it is indulgent and vain. I’m hoping some of you can sympathize.
So there’s my accountability, or lack thereof, post.
