I liken a treadmill mile to .8 real miles. It’s not the same effort.
Oh, wait, you’re metric. I liken a treadmill kilometer to 800 meters.

We’ve had some proper Seattle rain these days, it’s been nice walking the dogs at night. Keeping up the B&W theme:
Nothing special to look at, but I felt so happy when I took this photo. I was walking the dogs and the rain was ferociously splashing onto my face with the wind pushing it in all directions. The road had a nice sheen to it; it’s nice how rain always boosts colours and contrast around us.
That tree behind the street light flare. Love that.
Walked this road, Howardsville Turnpike, for a couple of hours yesterday. It runs parallel to the government-shutdown Blue Ridge Parkway, which though it’s accessible by foot, was iced over. I would’'ve hiked in the woods on the AT, but that too, iced over, with downed trees.
Clears the cobwebs!
We lived in Seattle from 1996-1999…i think one year we had 83 consecutive days of rain
I just discovered this thread and love it!
I am recovering from knee surgery, asthma attack and pneumonia. My “walks” currently consist of bedroom/bathroom/kitchen. Along the way, my rescue pup, Piper, was basking in the sunlight.
I’m thrilled to have a reason to take a picture every day and I can chart my recovery and physical therapy through pictures.
Excited to share as my world expands again!

I thought it looked somewhat familiar – I spent the early part of my childhood in Gibraltar and we used to drive out to all those places in Andalusia. Some really amazing places.
It’s quite bleak and desert like, but it does have a strange kind of beauty of its own
I wish I had done a better job on the first one, but the pop of orange in the night was too cool not to share.
