What did you learn today?

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #101

Fahrenheit was a good guy. Nobody should hate him, poor thing. :slightly_frowning_face:

(Running from stupidity) #102

Thus the apron.

But, but…

Freezing is really cold, so having anything below that being negative makes sense. Having it still be +31 is, well, kinda nutso. Because 31, which it will be here today, is a bit too hot.

Also, 212? Really? I mean, I’m sure to SOME
weirdos
32-212 is a perfectly sensible scale, but to most, 0-100 is a tad more sensible.

but I didn’t realize in Celsius that at 70 degrees I’d be dead.

So then it wouldn’t be an issue!

As an aside, it was 49.5C in Marble Bar (NW Aus) the other day. And it’s not even
really
summer yet.

All you ancient European
colonists
STILL sticking together, eh?

(Jane) #103

Lord Kelvin wasn’t too bad a guy either!

#104

Is nobody going to stick up for the Kelvin? :stuck_out_tongue:

#105

Snap!

(Jane) #106

Jinx!!!

(Running from stupidity) #107

I meant to mention him, and just forgot #ADHDBRAIN

I mean, it STILL makes more sense than
that
Farenheit

#108

He just sounds friendlier too. 42 Kelvins? I can handle that!

#109

I didn’t mean to hurt water’s feelings about it feels about the weather on a given day. C’mon, it makes about as much sense to take atoms into account by making everything centered around Kelvin.

That’s just because you use the Celsius In versus Celsius Out method and stick to that dogma. Here butter melts at 95F, just a few degrees off from the perfect human temperature of 98.6F, meaning we can drink all the melted butter we want and it won’t affect Fahrenheit at all.

What a coincidence, it was 43F here tonight in Portland Oregon (PNW USA) and I was just thankful I didn’t have to thaw out my car like I had to this morning.

OK, so you win the internet this week.

And for the year so far.

Also, maybe the entire year.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #112

So wait—you’re just going to ignore poor Celsius? After all he did to make your temperatures make sense? Sheesh!

#113

Would that I could ignore Celsius during this heatwave!

#114

That was awesome!

(Jane) #115

(Karen) #116

There are several of them that I regularly revisit. The first one with Megan Ramos called, shaking it up,I think Is a great one.

Hmmmmm, The train has left the tracks.

Let’s see what else have I learned today. I learned that you can make a keto muffins with psyllium husk alone and no almond flour. So that would be:
1 tablespoon butter melted
2 tablespoons psyllium husk
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
One egg
Stir and Microwave for one minute.
Psyllium husk has fewer net carbs than almond flour

(Carolyn aka stokies) #118

How important lymph is to moving fats… whee!

(Carl Keller) #120

Yesterday I learned carb users love Fat Head pizza. I made one at work with a ranch dressing base and scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and mozzarella cheese as toppings. I only got 2 slices before it was gone…
