@clackley @Keto6468 you can use cream of tartar instead of the vinegar (acid). You won’t get the vinegar taste.
Awesome, I really hope you enjoy it. It’s not long. Audible gets more of my money than I’d like to admit, I’m addicted. So it’s nice this one was free!
I’m also addicted to Audible. I’ve been staying away lately, trying not to overspend my monthly credits. So, I’m very happy to see the new program of the two free Audible Originals every month!
Yep, we tell most new folks that come to our division, that you will soon become a weather expert, since we have to follow it so diligently. Besides using NWS and watching the radar maps themselves, we also do a Weekly webinar every Monday morning that gives us a breakdown of the up-coming week. (From the same source, as well as some others) … This was usually mostly during Hurricane season, but we’ve been pretty much doing it year around anymore with this crazy weather.
This is what I do for most of my recipes as well. Cream of Tartar is an acid based powder. So not only is it a raising agent, it has potassium in it as well.
It’s made with poblano peppers (roast them, put them in a bag for 10min, peel them, and chop them, keep the seeds if you like spicy, but I always remove them), put in a pan with oil or butter, add cream cheese, onion and garlic powder (or the real thing if you like), salt, black pepper and a cheese that melts (I used manchego), if it’s too thick add water/chicken/bone broth, and that’s it!
It’s a really common mexican dish and we eat it alone (in tacos mostly) or as a dip/sauce/side, some people purée it and use it like that.
Where do you get Rao’s sauce? I am having trouble finding anything like that without sugar.
Howdy neighbor
They had raos at Costco b4 @Regina
At one time at target I think
Pay me later …finders fee + delivery charge🤣
But I will check tomorrow at “ our “ local new SoCal Costco
And report back
Rao’s does have some sugar, but not as much as most brands. But I also find the taste quite good and the carb count reasonable. … They actually carry 3 different types at the Food Lion that’s near me, but you can also order it from Amazon. And they apparently have quite a few different varieties to choose from. - I typically use the ‘Marinara sauce’ one, but they also carry I believe ‘Roasted Garlic’? and lastly, the Pizza Sauce one. … But I am looking at some of the other choices on Amazon to try. Can’t say how many there are, but last I looked, there was quite a few to choose from.
I would have to check the carb counts on those others I haven’t used, but the one’s I have are all pretty decent. (example; 4 carbs for a 1/2 cup? I believe one said 4 per 1/3 cup? But I would have to check.) … so if I use 1/4 cup on a hamburger, it’s only 2 carbs.
If you have a Trader Joe’s near you, they have a pretty good pasta sauce which I buy to use as a pizza sauce on fathead dough and for lasagna, Trader Giotto’s Three Cheese Pomodoro. It has 5 net carbs per 1/2 cup serving, no added sugar, and pretty clean ingredients. It’s also very reasonably priced. I divide up the jar into 1/2 cup servings and freeze what I don’t use right away.
I think the key is they don’t add sugar. The sugars listed are from the tomatoes I believe.
Same with the Trader Joe’s. No ADDED sugars, but ripe tomatoes naturally contain some sugars.
Don’t worry, I got impatient, used too high heat, and did the same thing last night! Still tasty af.
