What Did You Keto Today? The Trilogy!

My first attempt at chaffles!
The instructions on the waffle maker said to ‘not eat the first batch’ um hello?!!! I don’t waste food! Tasted fine to me! :joy: might try with only one egg next time? Might be less eggy then?

#5995

My first batch was eggy too. I added cheese and they came out much fluffier and chewier. I use a 3:1 ratio, eggs to cheese. I use two large eggs which is 120g, and 40g of cheese. Maybe you could try that?

Mum and I tried a new restaurant

I had calves liver with brocolli in a garlic and chilli butter with salad. The food was lovely, but the ambience was lacking!

That’s a good idea! Thank you! it might go a bit further then! Was shocked that a cup of cheese and two eggs only filled two of the spaces!

Hope you’re having a lovely day with your mum!

Nice and chilled! Thank you :sunglasses:

Check out the chaffles thread. @KetoSnaps adds a little butter and baking powder. I did that, very nice for sarnies. Also cheese, egg, then more cheese nice hot and slightly crisper. You can make them a little thinner. Lots of variation, hours of fun🤗

Thanks, and yep, one of my Favorites, meaning Seafood in general. Can’t quite say which is my overall favorite, but it would probably be between Dungeness Crab or Scallops.

Hunted this morning and came back to wash some stuff and grab a bite before heading back in for the evening. Had some Fried Eggs, Bacon, Sausage Links, Sausage Patties, Fried Spam & Italian Sausage

#6002

Wow, you must have a big waffle maker. :hushed:

Pork belly and some farm fresh duck eggs lightly fried in duck fat. Had to drive to the farmers’ market in an adjacent county because my town sucks but it was worth the trip.

When I was a vegetarian (not a good experience) I was always having to get super complicated with my food so that it was edible. Now I love the simple pleasures in food: meat, more meat, eggs, a little dairy.

Yes I’ll definitely get some inspiration from that thread! Practice makes perfect. I have to admit I thoroughly enjoyed the melty butter on the top!

Kicking off my bingo shenanigans tonight with an iced coffee with a double shot of vodka in :hugs:

I hope you win!

Fast Breaker

Thanksgiving, relatives in town, let’s do lunch! And so my nice fasting bubble comes to an end. I was ready to go another day but I don't want to become a fasting hermit.

I opted for 10 macadamia nuts followed by this tiny plate of pork belly with melted Tex-Mex cheese, Ukrainian sausage and pate.

That fired up my digestive system. I won’t have to run off during lunch and I won’t be hungry. They have a bacon/eggs style brunch so I won’t have trouble choosing what to eat.

My standard chaffle is layers of 10 grams of shredded cheese + 25 grams of beaten eggs + 10 grams of shredded cheese. So mine is nearly a 1:1 ratio.

I have my mini-waffle iron on my kitchen scale to get them precise. I did that because I was getting too many messes because I overfilled the waffle iron when I eyeballed my layers.

Thank you!
I need the winnings to pay for all this cheese I need for my choffels! :joy::joy:

I find when I blend the batter with a stick blender it tastes not eggy, not cheesy, but ‘neutral’. Butter makes it scrummy, baking powder puffs it up to bread thickness. My initial attempts, keeping egg and cheese separate, were just too much like a cheese omelette. Don’t get me wrong, I love omelettes, but I use chaffles for sandwiches and there’s nothing that’s worse than a cold omelette…!

#6011

Yeah, I’ve thought about adding more cheese, but I’m afraid of overflow. I’ve been lucky so far so I don’t want to tempt fate.

Just some pork scratchings and cream cheese and chilli dip :yum:
